Likes

Faculty is very experienced and knowledgeable, skp sir being one of the best teachers I have come across.
Freedom in the sense there's not much strict standards and rules such like that.
Enough holidays. Goenka college of commerce and business administration gives enough holidays

Dislikes

Less frequency of classes.Classes could be done much more frequently.
Less sports infrastructure. Sports infrastructure can be drastically improved.
The college needs better authorative figures,.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I am from commerce background. The faculty is quite good, they have experienced teachers. What it needs is more uniformity in classes. Exams were at moderate level in my point of view

Internships Opportunities

Internships comes from local firms a well as MNCs such as Delloite,KPMG,PWC, E&Y. The stipend differs from companies to companies.MNCs give on a higher rate than local companies. The students with good marks are the ones who get placed mostly

Placement Experience

I would say currently the placement scenario is in its low phase. I guess it can inproved. From 5th semester only students are eligible for campus placements.The percentage of students getting placed is around 30 percent. Highest may go upto 8 lakhs while average around 5 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

Our fees is very minimal since it's a public college, and it does provide a lot of scholarships especially when u are from West Bengal and financial assistance is adequately provided and there are seperate people just for the scholarship and financial assistance purposes. Camlus placement can be improved

Campus Life

We have freshers and for annual fests we celebrate 3 days in decembed. It's called quest and ucallypso. Several colleges come here perform and compete. Books are available in the library. Classrooms are okay enough. We have intra sports such as khoko,carrom, table tennis.etc.

Admission

It was based on my Class 12 board percentage. College had to put out forms for admission after our results were declared. The admission process was done online, just the physical verification of the documents submitted online was checked offline.

Placement Experience:

Well among the curriculum of Bcom my most favourite is the management and Economics part. Cause I really love them and the teachers of that subject are really good . The improvement that I would want is the professors to come to the classes and teach us and finish the syllabus on time.

Placement Experience:

It is a 4 year programme which offers placements. But if someone doesn't get direct placement they are still skilled enough to get a job off campus and it can go from 6 LPA to 12 LPA. If the performance is very poor they can't go to the 4th year.

Umesh Chandra is not a good college don't take admission there very poor infrastructure

I choose the four BCom Honours in accountancy and Finance because I grew up in a Commerce background household and all my family members are BCom graduate and I want to be an investment banker with SAP schedule on my degree that is why I choose this code and talk about the faculty student ratio the faculty was good according to the number of students present in the class and in the college the qualification for the faculty is very good teachers are very nice and friendly but I don't get to understand what this week due to me not knowing Bengali so called language barrier was present exams and all were followed by the Calcutta University curriculum in 75 is to 25 ratio 75 marks paper from CU and 25 marks from the college itself 5 marks for attendance 10 marks for internal written test and 10 marks for MCQ

Do Right Things Now For Your Future

Placement Experience:

After 4th semester students become eligible for campus placements. Out of the companies some of them are Institute of Charter Accountancy, Institute of GST ETC. They give us some packages for jobs. Like the highest package is about 50000 rupees and the lowest is 15000 rupees. Only few studets get chance in this companies. Like 5-10% students. I want to be a bank manager so i just keep my study moving on.

INSIGHTS OF GCCBA

Goenka college of commerce and business administration is the second best college in Kolkata and the best college under Calcutta University. Hence it has a brand value. I got admission offers in SXUK, Jaipuria THK Jain and Bhawanipur college, But this was the best option I had. The admission process is through your boards marks.
