Likes

Classrooms of campus are quite humongous in size
The number of resources we are provided with is great
Right from each and every olympic n non olympic sport to all extra curricular activites, you are provided one of the best pedestals

Dislikes

Hostel rooms are not on the level as they should be for IIT
Faculty is not that great, for such a prestigious insititue
Few of the instruments provided in labs are old and faulty

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this coursensince this was the one i got alloted during josaa councelling, on an average one student handles 200 students and the faculty have great way of teaching, coming to exams they are perfectly held on time and they include questions direct from notes given by professors

Internships Opportunities

Internship opportunities are highly available and right from the first semester to the last semester you can find many sutdents having internships and college eveb provides an official internship named as CDC in 6th semester

Placement Experience

From semester 7 sutdents are elligible to apply for placements, few of the companies visiting our institute include jp morgan, google, facebook and usually the core circuital branches dwell well in terms of getting placed with huge offers

Fees and Financial Aid

Per semester insitute charges 100000 for tution fees and 40000 hall fees Regarding scholarship i dint get to avail anything as such but when it comes to fees and the quality of education offered, iits are definitely the best in India

Campus Life

Life at campus is definitely one of the best lives a student can live in this country when it comes to academic as well as non academic, the amount of research opportunities to each and every extra curricular activity a student can get is beyond words

Hostel Facilities

Hostel rooms are pretty small and the food quality is definitely pretty bad, the conditions of making food are for sure unhygienic and even the toilets are unhygeinic, water here is also almost hard types

Hostel Fee: INR 40000 per year

Admission

I am an undergraduate student at Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur enrolled in the B.Tech course in the departmenet of Mettalurgical and Materials sciences engineering and i will graduate from this insititute in 2027

Campus life: Hype vs Truth

Placement Experience:

I heard it from seniors that before lockdown it was pretty decent but after lockdown the company visits are not that much comapred to before lockdown.Cognizent, Accenture, Mindtree, PQ360 which is a startup company of our senior alumni etc. visits.

Placement Experience:

Well as far as mh knowledge students get to placements from 6th semester itself . Well there are placement classes from 3rd semester itself . The placement track record of the college is quite good with most year about 90% gets placed with good companies comming like Deloitte, EY GDS , JP MORGAN, Oracle , offering high amount of placement offers like around 20+ lpa . Well I am not sure about my plans maybe if the palacement is good I'll take it or will be preparing for GATE (Whose courses are also provided from college .)

The life in HITK

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible for campus placement in cse, it ,ece and sometimes elec branches. The others dpt also offers a quite unique variety of placements from different companies. Nearly 60 percent of the students have been placed in this year and others are still on board for a positive response.

A Deep Dive into JGEC

Placement Experience:

From 4th year the students become eligible for on campus placements. Few companies that visited are BEL which offered 12lpa , wtw which also offered 12lpa , TCS which offered 9 lpa highest, and many more . Highest package offered this year was 54lpa by Microsoft (off campus) . On campus highest was BEL which offered 12 lpa , the average package is around 8 lpa . My plan is to prepare myself for government exams and get a job by the end of my 4th year .

the cirricullum is quite relevent and comprehensive . BTECH program especially CSE includes specializations like data sciene , cybersecurity, IOT, etc . Exams are held twice in a semester . the college could include hand on learning through workshop , industry project and interships .
