I hate the weather condition in IIT Kharagpur
Huge campus so that its difficult to ride cycle all the day
Their are certain unnecessary subjects that are not related to core branch

Course Curriculum Overview

Because im intrested in Electical devices .Good and there are lot of teaching assisant and in the first year 1:90 .They were well qualified in thier phd.Too hectic during the exams.And system of grading here a bit complex

Class Size: 90Course Fees: INR 2000000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

For any genral candidate the fees is around 1.5lakhs per semester but being a student from reserved category my fees is around 60k per semister.Well there are many scholarships for all the students. for me the scholarship is assisted by ministry of tribal.

Campus Life

Kshitij(Tech Fest],Spring Fest[Social and cultural] are conducted in January [Ending].The Central library of IITKGP hosts the national digital library of India It means that the resources are infinite.

Admission

JEE ADV And i got applicatoin form in jee main portal and then jee advance.I am reserved candidadte caste is ST .They should give the results as soon as possibe and josaa need to take correct path in counselling

From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placements and there are plenty of companies that come like in my branch there 35-40 companies (core) came and no of offers were 30.Placement percentage was around 95%.Median package was around 7.5lpa and highest was 15lpa.Well my plans are not decided yet, currently in my 2nd year.

from 6th semester the student become eligible for campus placement.Companies like google ,microsoft , apple etc visit the campus.the highest package offered around would be 50 lakhs and lowest would be 5 lakh.around 70 percent of the student get placed.i want to get placed and do the job then slowly i want to start my editing agency.

The placement of the college is not that much which I expected but not also very bad the highest package of the college is around 51 lack and the average package is like 11-12 lack and the median of the college is 10 lack pretty much good and placement percent is around 88 percent of students placed every year

Not an Ideal college for campus Life

Placement Experience:

Campus Placements starts after 6th semester and majorily mass recruiters visit the campus and there are more opportunities for the cor branchs as compared to the non core because of the presence of many industries in the nearby areas.For this year, 12lpa is the highest placement in Commvault but the total placement is only around 50-60%, so my plan is to try getting off campus opportunities by the end of my 3rd year

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

M.Tech in IIT KGP - What you need to know.

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
