IITKGP has a huge green campus which makes one love to roam.
IITKGP has a huge library, which makes fall in love with study.
IITKGP has a very good teaching staff who make students love studying.

Dislikes

IITKGP has a quite a high free structure compared to what it offers.
IITKGP has a high suicide rate which are not much addressed by the Deans.
IITKGP has very short semester time, which makes it a little difficult to study.

Course Curriculum Overview

I choose Aerospace Engineering because of my interest in Space and stuff. I want to buit giant rockets that will make humans and other species multiplaneatry. Faculty:Student = 1:40 All faculties aka teachers have a very strong concreate knowledge about the subject, and their teaching method is top in the the country. Over a timespan of 4months, that is 1 Semester their are 2 class tests, 1 mid sem exam and finally 1 end sem exam. Its not that hard to pass the exam, all one needs is consistency.

Class Size: 47Course Fees: INR 300000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Cost of study is quite high. 1lakh rupess tution fees each semester and around 40,000 rupess for other charges. So thats around 3lakh rupess a year! Facilities like library and study area, hostel rooms and gyms are very well managed.

Campus Life

Annual fest is Spring fest largest in Asia. Tech fest is Kshitij. Both are conducted in January. IITKGP has one of the largest libraries in India with a wide range of books on different topics. It also has a huge digital library. Classrooms are well furnished with nice cooling systems. IITKGP has great gym and sport facilties. Their are many groups and socities like Robotix, Prodex, Spats(Space technology students cell).

Admission

I started preparing for JEE Advance from class 10. I went to FIITJEE coaching. You need to be 12th pass with a minimum 75% score including Maths, Physics and Chemistry. You should first qualify jee mains and then appear for jee advance and qualify for it. You only get 2chances for jee advance. Application form for jee mains can be availed from nta(national testing agency) website. Application fess is about 1000INR. Application dates are relased usually on last week of november, and exams are conducted on January.

Placement Experience:

1)From 6th semester students become eligible for campus placement. 2) Cognizant , TCS(most fav), Wipro, startups, IBM visit for recruitment . 3)In 2023 highest was 45lpa by amazon average is 4.5lpa. 4)From our Hostel each and every senior get placed. some with good package like tcs digital, even off campus (2025). 5)My plan is to take a job and enter in IT firm to learn and teach new technolgies through my YOUTUBE.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else

Clg Review

Since I was interested in getting into an IIT from class 11, and IIT KGP was the only college that gave the best branch to college ratio among all other IITs that I was eligible for based off my rank. The admission process for my college for B.TECH involves JOSAA, a counselling system for all government engineering colleges in India where the eligibility criteria is based off JEE ADVANCED rank. Since you can only select one college through JOSAA, the only one i selected was this as this was the only one I was alotted based off my rank. The cutoff for my college is around 12000 for General Male and 20000 for General Female. This increases for other categories like SC ST OBC etc....Read More
