Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because I was forced by my parents to choose it , but after choosing I feel it is a very interesting course to do. The faculty and students ratio is quite good as compared to any other colleges in Kolkata .

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 60000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure of this course is 5 lakh for four years of computer science and engineering. This college provides a scholarship of 10 percent to the student and there is also some scholarship provided by the West Bengal government

Campus Life

There is fest name xenia conducted every year for the fresher student ,there are lot of humanities present in the class room like projectors and smart board there is a sport and extra curricular activities every year

Admission

The eligibility of this course is minimum 50% In the higher secondary school. The application form is available online. There is no reservation for the lower caste or minorities. This college needs many improvements

Placement Experience:

At JGEC,campus placements begin mostly from the 6th/final year semester,when students become eligible .I recent years many well-known companies have visited such as Pinnacle Infotech,Synnova Gears & Transmissions Pvt.Ltd,,TCS,Jyesta corporate Entity and many more.The highest package was around 54 LPA form Google ,While the overall average is 10.2LPA.Many students also take internships, industrial training or prepare for higher studies(GATE) rather than accepting direct placement immediately.The exact percentage of student getting palcement is no where.But last year the percentage placed is 70%.

Placement opportunities are overall good, students can apply for the placement form 5th and 6th semester and can get PPOs's companies like Microsoft, google, amazon comes during the placement season and every year, so many students get placed even with a package greater than 2cr INR. Placement Experience:

Overall the placement percentage of the college is good for both the core and non-core courses almost near 90%. All the students in there 3rd year i.e. in their 5th or 6th semester are elegible for campus placements. A few companies which visit the college are TCS, WIPRO, TECH MAHINDRA, INFOSYS, IBM, COGNIZANT, HUL, HCL, INDIAN OIL, MITSUBSHI, NJ INDIA, D-POWER,ETC. all the companies offer placement. highest on-campus package = inr 33 lakh where as the average is around 6lpa. After the degree, I plan to get a good placement in a core company and opt for GATE.
