Likes

The thing that i liked about the college is its decorum and discipline.
The college conducts Practice Placement tests for students.
The college fest is worth a mention. Multiple colleges participate in UEM's fest.

Dislikes

The infrastructure of the classrooms could have been a little better.
They charge late fine of rupees 50 per day. They should understand the financial condition of students and must not levy any extra charges.
The quality of food at the canteen could have been better.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose the course because i had interest in coding since my high school. The faculty student ratio is 1:60. Some of the faculty members are well qualified with Phd and mtech degree. Exams are taken frequently by the college to ensure good preparation of students. 2 mid term exams are taken by the college as internals.

Internships Opportunities

Many tech companies provide intership opportunities to students like Capgemini, Deloitte, Wipro and Cognizant. Post completion of the internship, students also get hired by the company if they maintain a good conduct during the internship.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for the entire course is 2 lakh 10 thousand rupees. No scholarship was granted to BPL students by the college. As heard from seniors, almost 70% of the students get placed by tech companies like Capgemini, cogmizant, wipro, tcs etc with an average package of 4LPA.

Campus Life

The campus is very big, with 3 buildings , 1 big library, garden, 1 basket ball court, multiple auditoriums, canteen and we'll equiped laboratories. The library offers an ample number of books to students. Students are allowed to enter the library only before and after the college hours and during break time to ensure students are not bunking regular classes. The college maintains discipline , more compared to other colleges.

Admission

We got admission to the course via an entrance exam named JECA. Students with rank 1 to 1100 were eligible to get admission in UEM for the MCA course. There was no scholarship provided by the college.

HIT from a Student's perspective - A viewpoint rather than just another review

Course Curriculum Overview:

I had passed out BCA and wanted to study further to learn more and in depth.So, I had decided to join the course. Like all other curriculums of Indian education system, the course was outdated and failed to deliver the standard required to be job-ready. The areas of improvement could be to avoid long boring lectures or focusing on ranting textbook definitions and rather focus on real life based problem solving approach development. There were semester exams every 6 months. It was not at all hard if regular study schedule could be followed. However, biased grading by teachers made things difficult for all except a few.

If you are doing a 2-year course then you are eligible for campus placement in the 3rd sem as i MCA student. Companies come on a campus like Capgemini, continent, tcs, Infosys, IBM, etc. The highest package of placement this year was 12 lac per annum .85% got placement.

If you want to join ths college you have give IEMJEE (their own admission exam) or through WBJEE Exam. But don't worry pal half of it's admission is done by management quota and rest of the seat is seal by external broker. College review

Provide decent jobs to most students. Faculties are helpful and teach well. You can issue 3 books at a time from the library once your library card is made. Classes are held to enhance your communication skills. A lot of items in the canteen and cafeteria. No ragging. There is no ground to play. Very strict rules, has a lot of restrictions. Most students call it a jail, cause you cannot bunk classes. But believe me, it will shape you into a good human being and you will also get placed if you put your effort.
