Likes

I liked the location of this college, in Salt Lake which is the IT hub of Kolkata
I also liked the food in the canteen. They have all types of food there.
I liked that the teachers are like friends. They aren't that formal and strict.

Dislikes

The sports scenario of this college is not that great.
College infrastructure is not that great.
Campus life is disappointing. Everyone attends class and goes back home.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I have an interest in Artificial Intelligence and programming. The faculty:student ratio is good and the faculty members are ok. Some teachers don't have a good teaching method but most of them are good.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 137500 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The cost to study in this college is medium compared to other private engineering colleges. The financial assistance is also good in this college. Campus placements are not that good compared to other colleges in Kolkata. Since the past few years the placement haven't been that good.

Campus Life

The campus of Techno Main Salt Lake is big but not well maintained. The football ground is mostly covered with long grass and mud. There is no Basketball court here and there are no indoor sport room. There is a swimming pool in the college but the water in it hasn't been cleaned for months. The only sport this college supports is cricket. There are several clubs that host social activities occassionally. But overall it's not that great.

Admission

The admission process of my college was upto the mark. The process could have been faster and smoother but it was satisfactory. The cut off of my college through WBJEE is 10,000 rank and for JEE it is in 1 lakhs.

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
