What Students Say

Likes

Teachers are really friendly and easy to approach.
Student council have a good hold of all the activities happening in the college premises, so there is no case of ragging in the college.
They don't put lot of pressure on students.

Dislikes

The infrastructure is poor and need proper maintenance
The administration work is a bit slower than one would expect
Even outside the college building, around the whole campus most things are damaged or not in proper maintenance but no one fixes it.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I wanted to pursue in the coding field and become a software engineer. The student ratio here is 1:10 . The teachers are very friendly and easy to approach. We got two semesters each year and in each semester we have a mid semester exams and the semester exams.

Class Size: 63Course Fees: INR 78000 per year

Placement Experience

Only the students with good cgpa get good placements here while the average ones get average placements. I myself don't aim to get a placement here cause I'll be doing some higher studies after this course.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees structure is very good and affordable. I didn't have any scholarships but this college does have some scholarship system for students which one will need to ask from the college before admission.

Campus Life

We have a few fests each year but those few ones are enjoyable. The college library has got every book you need though you will have to ask for it a day before to get it. The classrooms are not in proper maintenance to be honest but it's still okay enough to attend the classes without an issue. We have many sports competitions each year.

Admission

If you are trying to get admissioned through WBJEE exam then you have to get a rank within 20 thousand. This college does have some reservation seats. The admission process was actually very good didn't take a lot of time.

Reality of Jis college of engineering

Placement Experience:

The students get eligible at 3rd year 6th sem. Though before that you can do internship or freelancing which will increase the weight of your profile. The percentage of student getting placement is around 60-70% and the average package is around 4-5lakhs per annum. The highest package got by a student previous year was around ?10lakhs per annum.

Remarks:

Provide decent jobs to most students. Faculties are helpful and teach well. You can issue 3 books at a time from the library once your library card is made. Classes are held to enhance your communication skills. A lot of items in the canteen and cafeteria. No ragging. There is no ground to play. Very strict rules, has a lot of restrictions. Most students call it a jail, cause you cannot bunk classes. But believe me, it will shape you into a good human being and you will also get placed if you put your effort. Best of luck for your college life.

Remarks:

Positive: provides an atmosphere for free thinking to pursue one's dream and subject. One can study in one stream and study other non-related subjects to stream without any hassle. The academic pressure is minimal. Negatives: needs more outreach for a university of this standard.
