Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because of my personal interest in the field of engineering. The faculty student ratio is quite good of 1:10. The faculties are very friendly, whenever we face any problem we can approach our to solve our queries. Teachers are highly qualified and experienced. Exams are conducted on a weekly basis.

Internships Opportunities

Various virtual internship offers are provided. Some of them are from tcs, aicte eduskills, internshala, etc. However students can get their own internship through their skills. Teachers too guide and help us with internship offers.

Placement Experience

Students are eligible for campus placements from the 3rd year i.e, 5th-6th sem 80%student got placement from various MNCs. Also many students got more than 2 offers. My plans are to sit for the campusing.

Fees and Financial Aid

Scholarships are provided to students. Financial assistance also available for the needy students. SVM scholarship is provided along with that, faculties too provide us with scholarship opportunities to avail.

Campus Life

Throughout the year, there are various programmes conducted. However, the annual tech fest is conducted in the month of FEBRUARY-MARCH. Books are also available for us to issue from the library. There are variety of clubs, mainly eco club, community alliance club, music club, literature club. Also, there is a special club named "Women Cell" consisting of the women where we work for the betterment and empowerment of the society especially consisting of the women from weaker sections.

Admission

Eligibility is of BTech course is of 4 years. Admission is based on WBJEE rank, JEE main rank and reserved management quota. Admission forms can be availed online, or the the admission cell of the college. Application fees around 10,000INR

Interview Experience

Yes. During time of admission we were interviewed for some basic question from our stream. The questions were generally easy but tricky. Better to get prepared by revising the syllabus. The topic included questions from our core subjects in engineering i.e, physics, chemistry, mathematics, etc

GOOD College at low fees.

Placement Experience:

Placement of my college are quite good with a avg package of 6 to 7 lpa and higest package of 45 lpa and this year the higest package is 75 lpa. The companies visited in my college are infosys, Capgemini,tcs,wipro, Mindtree,IBM, sometimes amazon also.The placement rate of the college is 85 to 95%.

Don't be a minimum guy, Choose GKCEM

It’s Greater Kolkata College of engg and mgmt. under JIS group is one of the best colleges around for students. Though my department of Mechanical Engineering is favorite for its labs, facilities, faculties and it is as good in other sections also. Certainly, our college provides adequate infrastructure and quality teaching of the faculty members here. This college is affiliated to MAKAUT University and many top companies visit the campus during placements. The senior are quite helpful to the juniors.Its an anti ragging campus.
