What Students Say
Likes
- The Library is good and peaceful to concentrate on your work or studies
- Food courts and Canteen available in the campus itself
- Bustling crowd and good spots to hangout
Dislikes
- The Principal right now is very conservative and rigid
- A lot of political atmosphere can be seen during election times
- Pollution could be a problem in the vicinity of the college
Course Curriculum Overview
My course is a program one so it's a bit less exhaustive when compared with the honourscourses. It gives me time to simultaneously prepare for competitive exams rather tha focusing more on my college subjects. The faculty student ratio might be a little on the high side but the faculty is good and resort to a practical teaching method. Our first sem exams were delayed by 1 week
Internships Opportunities
The college has an internship cell run by students whose primary task is to get interns placed in companies of all sorts. The staff posts regular updates on their social media handles. You can join the cell as a team member as well after clearing rounds or seek their help in landing an internship
Placement Experience
Most of the placements are bagged by bcom and eco hons students with a little from maths and cs. My course doesn't offer much placement and it's better to focus on your plans after graduating. Last year the highest package was 36L with the average being around 8L.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure is not too high considering its a central university. Scholarship Opportunities are generally available for reserved classes only with occasional financial assistance to everyone regardless. There is a placement cell in the college itself which can help you get a campus job
Campus Life
There are fests you can go and attend at any college in DU. They are happening round the year with some colleges conducting there flagship fests at particular times. Books related to your core subjects are readily made available in the library. The classroom have multi seated desks with AC's and a Projector. Numerous societies including that of sports, finance, dance, music etc organise their programs and fests so people can choose from a wide variety of interests
Hostel Facilities
The Hostel is relatively expensive and general category doesn't get any good from it. The menu is pretty basic and the food doesn't taste good. Lunch and dinner particularly dont have much of variety and some people may not like timings of it as well. Registration can be done from official site of Hansraj and it is allotted on the basis of your CUET score and program
Admission
The course eligibility was one language compulsory to be taken and 3 core subjects of your choice in the CUET Examination after 12th. The Application form can be found on the CUET official website and then once the results come out apply on the official du website with your necessary details. As for the improvement I'd suggest that there should be one unified portal to apply for all the colleges you want to get into rather than visiting websites of different institutions. It'll be of great help and students wont miss out on any universities or colleges of their choice as each of them opens their portals at different period of time and have different requirements and prerequisites
Other Applied Colleges
Hindu College | Bachelor of Arts [BA] {Hons.} (Political Science)
Got Hansraj in the first admission list and joined it thereafter
