Course Curriculum Overview

5

The faculty members are well educated and well qualified, so we cannot expect less from them. I choose this course because of my interest in this field of chemistry. In our branch a total of 117 students are there.

Internships Opportunities

5

Internship opportunities at NIT Calicut (NITC) can vary across departments and disciplines. The institute typically encourages students to undertake internships to gain practical exposure and enhance their skills. Here are some general aspects of internships at NITC: 1. **Placement and Training Cell:** NITC usually has a dedicated Placement and Training Cell that assists students in securing internships. This cell often collaborates with various industries and companies to provide students with diverse internship opportunities. 2. **Departmental Internships:** Different departments within NITC may have their own internship programs or liaisons with companies relevant to their field. Students often have the flexibility to explore internships aligned with their academic specialization. 3. **Summer Internship Programs:** Many engineering and technology programs at NITC include a mandatory or recommended summer internship component.

Placement Experience

5

As of my last knowledge update in January 2022, the placement scenario at NIT Calicut (NITC) was generally positive. NITs, being premier engineering institutes in India, have historically maintained good placement records. Companies from various sectors, including IT, core engineering, consulting, and finance, participate in campus placements. However, specific placement statistics can vary from year to year. It's advisable to check the latest placement reports or reach out to the college's placement cell for the most up-to-date information. The placement cell at NITC typically plays a crucial role in facilitating interactions between students and potential employers. In case there are no campus placements available, NITC graduates, given their engineering background, usually have good prospects in the job market. They can explore opportunities through off-campus drives, job portals, and networking. Additionally, pursuing higher education, such as postgraduate studies or research, is

Fees and Financial Aid

Our college fees structure is based on the annual income of our parents. So it depends on that policy. Our college assures 100 internship and placement rate is also 100percent.it also gives stipend based on our internships.

Campus Life

5

The college life is too good. We have 2 fests in one academic year. We have a lot of classrooms with a lot of free space. Also we have sports facilities and we can also avail to play on inter NIT competitions. We also have NCC, NSS.

Hostel Facilities

5

NIT Calicut hostels provide a mixed bag of experiences for residents. On the positive side, the facilities are generally well-maintained, offering basic amenities like Wi-Fi, laundry, and common rooms. The hostel staff is often helpful, ensuring a smooth living experience for students. The hostel rooms, while not extravagant, are functional and provide a decent environment for study. However, there are areas that could use improvement. The cleanliness standards vary across hostels, with some being notably cleaner than others. Maintenance issues, such as plumbing and electrical problems, can occasionally disrupt the daily routine of residents. The hostel mess food has received mixed reviews, with some finding it satisfactory, while others express a desire for more variety and improved taste. Socially, the hostels foster a sense of community among students, with various cultural and sports events organized throughout the year. Yet, noise levels can be high, affecting those seeking a qu

The placement here is top notch. This year in my campus the highest CTC offered was 56.5lpa by PALOALTO. Placements process is centralised at coimbatore though. Students are eligible for campus placements from third year or s5. Average package in computing department ranges from 10-12lpa. My plans after degree is to pursue MS: opportunities of which are provided by the college itself. In computing department almost 90% of the students have been placed according to the seniors I talked to. However it is lower in other streams.

Civil engineering is a course with least placement in every engineering colleges. Students are placed during their fourth year in college. Sobha Constructions Ltd is one of the main companies that visits college. 200000rupees package is the average package offered. Les than 25 percent civil engineers get placed. I plan to prepare for GATE exam and pursue more in this course.
