- The greenery and cool atmosphere around the campus , for a nature loving person the atmosphere in the college and around it is suitable.
Dislikes
- I disliked the problem of language barrier outside the college , it is difficult to communicate with the locals
- I did not like the swimming pool of the college , it did not meet my expectations of a swimming pool in the campus.
Course Curriculum Overview :
I chose this course owing to my interest in buildings and structures in the Civil field. Faculty:student ratio is quite adequate in the college and proper. The faculties are well qualified and Phd holders in their respective field. The teaching method is quite interesting. The term exams were on time and it was quite moderately difficult paper, with some effort one could pass the exams.
Internships Opportunities :
Many multinational companies provide internships the campus , paid and unpaid both for a maximum period of 6 months. Companies like google , microsoft, etc also provide internships in the college. The stipend ranges from Rs10000 a month to Rs100000 , differs from company to coompany. Some projects include Web desigining and graphic designing given by the companies.
Placement Experience :
The placements are very good in the college as it is a tier 1 NIT. The students become eligible for placements from the end of 6th semester. More than 250 companies visited the campus and more than 1000+ offers were given to the students. The highest package was 50 lakhs given by a multinational company, and average was 14.36 lakhs. More than 80% of students got placed in the college. I plan to do MBA after my B-tech degree from an IIM
Loan/ Scholarship Provisions :
The fees in the college for general candidates of family income above 5lakhs is quite high, around 8-9 lakhs for four years of B-tech course. There is a ee hike in the college. But to financially weak students the fees is low and there are a lot of scholarships the students can apply for and get financial aid in paying the college fees..
Campus Life :
The life at campus is enjoyable and very friendly. The annual fest here is Ragam conduced in the month of March and the technical fest is Tathva conducted in the month of October. The central library is very huge with thousands of books and journals and accessible to everyone in the college. Classrooms are well equipped though A.C. is not provided in every college but every other basic amenity is there in the classrooms. The sports and extra curricular activites in the college is very interesting for someone who likes sports or other activity. There are a lot number of clubs Technical like GDSC & FOSSCELL and Cultural clubs like Dance drama clubs , Music club with many home teams like Fashion show in the college.
Hostel Facilities :
The hostel faciliy for the first year is very basic . A fan, cupboard, table & chair is provided in the hostel room which is very basic. A mess, common room , computer room and study room is also there in the hostels. The meal is okaish , a few week days it is not that good. The menu is good for both veg and non veg students. Hostel is very cheap and the registration is quite smooth process with ful transparency.
Admission :
The admission process was somewhat smooth. The eligibility of this course was to pass 12th board exams with a minimum of 75% aggregate with Physics, Chemistry and Maths as the main subbjects, and to secure a rank in JEE Mains exam. The application form is avialable on NTA's official website of JEE Mains exam. The application fees was Rs1000 for general candidates and Rs500 for reserved caste candidates. The exam is conducted in 2 sessions in the months of January and April following the JEE Advanced exams. An improvement i want to see in the admission process is to make things more transparent and reduce the application fee charges.
