This was the best college i could get with my jee rank. so i chose it, i was also interested in electronics. also location of college was convenient for me for travel to home. to get National Institute of Technology Karnataka u need a really good score in JEE (easier said than done), reservation also play a role whether u get your prefred college. there is also luck involved in the paper that u got for your mains. with a rank below 10k you can get this college. higher the rank better the branch you can apply for. We got here through JEE Mains exams. After the cutfoffs are released by JOSSA i got a seat in NITK, Mechanical Engineering. I prefered this college because of the campus (private beach), placements statuts, and seniors recommondation. After seat allotment from Jossa we get a reporting period. On that day we can complete the Admission Process. On my reporting day many seniors ( mostly from 2nd year) helped me and other students, so the process went smooth....Read More

I didn't choose this college , I got it in josaa counselling , I wanted IIT Gauwhati . I was not eligible to take admission in IIT GAUWHATI because of less marks in my jee advanced examination , I was not qualified because of 2 marks in 2023. Admission process is simple. Student from India comes in NIT Karnataka after clearing jee mains examination. Eligibility criteria is that you should have more than 75 percent in both 10th and 12th board examination. Mostly for my college the cutoff is under 30000 rank in jee mains at which student can easily take admission through josaa counselling. Overall admission experience is good....Read More

I had applied for all the top 10 NITs, of which I was confirmed admission in every NIT, I chose NITK over NITT for 2 reasons, firstly because I was getting non-core branches in NITT, secondly I had home state quota for NITK through which I was getting core branches I didn't get any rejection from any of the colleges i applied, I was eligible for all of them, i just chose the one with the better rank and the one which would provide me with better placement in the course which I was getting allotted Admission process is through JOSAA and CSAB counseling. You're eligible to attend JOSAA counselling if you have cleared JEE MAINS with a percentile over 80. Exam accepted for my course are JEE and DASA(for NRIs), the cutoff of JEE MAINS 2024 was 93.4 percentile for general category, 90 percentile for obc, and around 60-70 percentile for SC/ST. One of the main reasons i chose NITK over other colleges is the fees. I joined the college by writing JEE Mains entrance examination. While i qualified for JEE Advanced, i was content enough with the results of JEE Mains to not write it. After giving JEE Mains, I applied for college via DASA quota. Given a choice between any private college and the college i currently study at, along with far lesser fees, there is also a brand value associated with NIT colleges which played a role in my selection process.
