Remarks

We students in PEC are a bunch of mentally and emotionally exhausted people who are only waiting for the 4 years of the course to get over so that we don't have to come back to this college. I don't think that anyone will or would miss this campus, but just the fun part as to how all of us survived these four years. To all the aspiring engineering students, choose any college but not this one. And if you have to choose this college, please don't choose ECE branch.

Entrance Preview

JEE MAINS 2015. No, there wasn't any interview process, just the online counselling. First we were required to register on the site/portal. After that, we had to choose streams of our preference in the desired order. A total of 3 counselling excluding spot round. After we secured the seat, we had to visit PU campus to get our documents verified. Then the next day we were registered in the college. So not any interview as such. Honestly speaking, i had got a decent rank so i chose this college and this stream. Not any interest in particular. Wasn't able to get a rank to get me a seat in CSE.

Course Curriculum Overview

2

Electronics and Communication Engineering No, the course structure is not up to the mark. We are hardly taught anything related to electronics. All our study is either based on software or on stuff that was used way back in 1980s. Our teachers don't like to take classes, send in ME people to teach us. They themselves are not clear with the basic concepts. Our HoD says that everything is our fault and that we don't take teachers n studies seriously. Basically it's the same old blame game wherein teachers blame the students n students blame the teachers. All in all, we students have lost interest in our field.

Internships Opportunities

Again, very very very bad. No core company visits the campus. The ones that visit are not happy with us. We students are blamed by our teachers for not carrying on with our core subjects. If we complain, they blame us for the whole situation. Marley 75% students get off campus internships through their contacts or through seniors, working for zero stipends, cos our college is not able to provide us with one.

Placement Experience

2

Very very bad for our branch. Hardly any company visits the campus. If they, they are not happy with us n say that students lack practical knowledge. Since only 1-2 companies from our branch visit campus, every stream, i again say, every stream student has to learn coding so that they can sit in the placements for the companies meant for CSE ppl.

College Events

5

Yes, we have several cultural and technical fests. We have a fest called PEc fest every year which is a cultural fest. Students get multiple opportunities to show their talent in pecs fest.

Fee Structure And Facilities

It is quite affordable. We have to pay 50 K per semester. Although it is quite high compared to what our seniors had to pay(40 k per semester), still i feel that fees for my batch was not that high. Although it is high for the Hostelers as they have to pay for the accommodation as well. Exact figure i don't know for Hostelers. N the fees is increasing with the new batch. Our juniors had an increase of 5 k. The newest batch maybe had an increase of 10 k(60 k per semester) but i m not sure.

Fees and Financial Aid

The college provides scholarships to category students as it is in all government colleges. Other than that I don't have any knowledge of.

Campus Life

0.5

Extra curricular activities are something which we can join by joining the numerous clubs. There are several clubs each for a different case like theatrical, dancing etc. We get to join these clubs.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

No i don't stay are a hostel because i am a day scholar. Neither do I live in a pg because my house is pretty close to my college and can be reached within 20 minutes.

Alumni/Alumna

Yes, the college does organised some lectures for interaction with the alumni whenever they can.

Exam Structure

Our midsems are over in 3 days whereas ends ems in 5-6 days. We are not free even on Saturdays n Sundays. We don't get any breaks in between or after the exams. Regular classes are held the very next day the exams are over. If we complain, we are told that are college follows the system followed by IITs and so this has to be done and we must comply by it. Anyhow, students get used to this stuff by the end of the first year itself.

Faculty

2.5

We do have qualified teachers who have received doctorates from prestigious institutes but what's the point of having such a good faculty if they are not willing to teach? Half the dept is filled with contractual faculty, other half with useless teachers. As mentioned earlier in previous questions, they don't take our classes, are not clear with the basic concepts, send their ME students to take our labs n lectures. Teachers tell some the 'important stuff' that'll come in the exams and our grades are decided on how good are you able to memorize it and repeat it in the exams. Not a good Faculty.

For improvement in teaching methods, they can go digital, like using smartboards, or use more practical teaching methods, or maybe just improve the way of teaching simply. Teaching methods here really need upgrades, mostly students here have to rely on youtube when exams come near.

The placements have been lowered by 10-20% recently, but they are getting better. You will get a job if you manage cgpa above 7 and are decent with your skills, but then don't dream for 20lpa + jobs, you need to work upon yourself in silence to get 25-50 lpa packages and they do happen in our colleges, highest package in electrical 2024-25 was 52 lpa and in ece cse they had 61 lpa. Companies start coming in 3rd year for internships, only 10% manage to get intern in 3rd year, companies like microsoft, atlassian, flipkart, mercedes, jp morgan etc. they do come. Placement perecentage is like 75-80% in electrical and it is very low in civil (around 40-50%), in cse it is like 90% or even higher. My plan is to get an intern asap. (Maybe in 2nd year theough offcampus)
