Remarks
Overall college is good. You'll enjoy your 3 years here. If you are getting your favorite subject here dont think to go for it. But if you want campus life then you should try south or north campus.
Entrance Preview
This is a Delhi University College so I got admission on the basis of best of 4 subjects. This college offers 9 UG courses. I chose Computer science because I am interested in networking, android etc.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course structure was good, As it is the only college that provide 9 science UG courses. Subjects were good, related to the course. But i think there were not much space to learn something new besides subjects. And also seldom there were any focus on research or anything else.
Internships Opportunities
The internship here at Bhaskaracharya College is not greatly pressured among students by teachers. There are not many companies who directly provide internship to students from college. You have to work on your own to get the internship. And mostly are non paying internships. So internship is a minus point here.
Placement Experience
Placements and job opportunities are not that good here. Hardly 2-3 companies visit this college to provide direct placement from college. In 2017 only sun microsystems visited our college for placement. Again if you want campus placement, you have to work hard and teachers help you to communicate with companies for placement. So placement is also a minus point.
College Events
Our annual cultural festival Srijan is celebrated once a year in February. Not much crowd in fest but good participation from other colleges. 2 days festival in which you can experience the best of everything. And there's also separate departmental fests once a year. So you can enjoy various events here.
Fee Structure And Facilities
The fee structure was very good here as compared to other Delhi University Colleges. The different fee structure for different courses. Computer science is most expensive here with around 25 thousand per year including exam fees and every other fee like library fees, sports etc But still its cheaper than other colleges where you have to pay at least 40k per year.
Fees and Financial Aid
I don't think there is any loan facility provided by the college. Scholarships are provided to students under various Delhi University scholarship schemes to toppers and minority students. I availed myself a scholarship of 5000. And there are many other scholarships. So it's a positive point.
Campus Life
As it is an off-campus college so there's not much to do outside of the college. College infrastructure is very good newly designed. Labs are good. Computer science lab is fully air conditioned. There is 1 volleyball court, 1 basketball court, 2 badminton courts, 1 cricket practice pitch, 1 large common ground for football and cricket and one 1 large elephant park to sit and enjoy with your friends. and other 4-5 small parks inside the college. Parks are well maintained and beautiful. Cricket is preferred here, as Bhaskaracharya organizes cricket tournament every year. Sports items are not good here. Dance society is very good here but dance room is small. I think there is a ratio of 6 boys and 4 girls.
Hostel Facilities
There's no hostel here in Bhaskaracharya. There's an average size canteen which provide food at a very cheap price. Canteen tender changes every sem, so the menu keeps on changing. And there are a lot of flats near the college, and you can rent rooms in front of the college. So you don't have to worry about living near the college. And rooms are very cheap when you share with your friends. You can rent a room in Mahavir enclave at 3000 per month which is about 5-7 minutes walk from college.
Alumni/Alumna
Seniors are very helpful here. They help you with notes, books and practicals and competitive exams for post-graduation.
Exam Structure
Exam structure was good. According to the latest pattern of Delhi University. Labs were 3 or 4 days in a week. So it'll not pressure you that much. Internal assessment exams were twice every semester. There was nothing hectic there. If you like the subject, it'll be easy for you.
Admission
Got admission on the basis of marks in best of 4 subjects. You can apply directly at college if you pass cut off marks. You can check cutoff marks on official DU site or on bcas.du.in. Administration process was slow but there was no rush as its an off campus college. Cutoffs are not that high as compared to other DU colleges and fees structure is also decent.
Faculty
I must say faculty of Bhaskaracharya College is Good. Well educated teacher, but sometimes they are quite lazy. Young teachers with fresh mind and talent. Some teachers were brilliant and hard working. Every teacher had their specialized field of teaching in which they can pull up the roots of the subject and answer every single doubt of students.
