Dislikes
- The college has now imposed 67% attendance from 2023 which makes it more academic oriented and leaves less time to explore other ventures
- The exam season can be stressful as there are instance where were back to back exams.
- The college is overoccupied due to the DU's 20% extra admissions and is quite crowded in fests.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as it wasn't very hectic and allowed me to pursue other stuff like internships, competitions and other ECA stuff. The student: faculty ratio is around 30:1. Faculty is amazing as you would expect from SRCC but obviously not all but most. There are 7 subjects in each semester with 4 majors and 3 minors.
Internships Opportunities
The main companies the come are usually Big4, Mckinsey/Bain/BCG, Duetsche Bank, etc. The main offers are made for financial and research analyst roles. The stipend varies from 15k to 20k but there's a really stiff competition.
Placement Experience
You become eligible for placements in the 5th semester. There's around 150 recruiters offering 550 placements. The placement ratio is around 85%. The highest package is around 34LPA being offered by Mckinsey,Bain and BCG. Avg is usally 7 to 9 lpa. I am opting for MBA directly after the degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee is very minimal and there hasn't been any hike since past 3 years and if there's a hike, it is usually Rs.500 as you would expect from a central university. There also have been multiple scholarship schemes and if someone has family income of less than 4LPA then the whole annual fee of 29650 is refunded. Placements and internships are great, avg being 7.8LPA for jobs and 15k for stipends.
Campus Life
Annual fest is Crossroads and it's conducted in March. College has a great library with every book of commerce and economics you would ever need. The classrooms are very basic but the good thing is there's a central AC so it helps in passing through the scorching heat of delhi. The college has a huge sports complex and has almost all the popular sport equipment. There are around 45 student run societies which help in overall eca profile.
Admission
I took admission via CUET 2022. For B.com.(hons) you need to have accountancy or maths in your class 12th marksheet as eligibility. The forms are released in februrary-march and exams are conducted in may-june in multiple slots. The reservation benefits are same as anyother central university. One thing to be noted, there's no state quota in delhi university. The problem with the process is quite long , the applications are released in feb-march and colleges start in mid august.
