Course Curriculum Overview
My course is B. Com(H). I have a interest in commerce field and wanted to go ahead in the same field. The total course has 7 exams per semester. It comprises of accounting , management and law as the core subjects throughout which are compulsory. Along with the core subjects hindi and evs are taught alternatively in each semester. And there is one GEC subject, we have to choose which can later be converted as minor subject if the required conditions are fulfilled during the college. And then there are SEC and VAC subjects in which we can learn new skills which we have to choose from the list provided by the college The college exams in terms of internals are good and the teachers are quite cooperative through them. The faculty has some old age teachers which have a lot of experience but are a little sluggish. And some are quite young are good teachers and are quite understanding. The teaching style is moderate i would say its not too good nor too bad.
Placement Experience
The highest package for the year 2023 was of 21 Lakhs p.a offered to a student from Economics(h). Students from 3rd year are eligible for campus placements. However, multiple internships offers are made available to the students of all years
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee for B. Com(h) is 32000 per year. As compared to other DU colleges its a bit expensive and the facilities are that upto mark. The college provides scholarship opportunities right after the admission process for new 1st sem students is completed for all 3 semesters. The criteria for scholarship for 1st year students is on the basis of 12 grade scores and overall personality of th student. For the second and third year students the criteria for scholarship is in terms college CGPA and Participation in college events and societies
Campus Life
The campus life is just moderate. As for the fest,no appropriate knowledge is provided for now.But the annual fest "SHRUTI" is organized usually. After a recent mishap at the annual fest, no further notice has been provided for the same. The classrooms have presenters which work but not appropriate care is taken therefore they work less. Inter college and intra college sports events are organised in the college which include sports like cricket, chess, basketball, football, etc. The library of the college is quite big with 2 floors. The books are some are quite old editions and there is a shortage of new editions of books. The library has a separate reading area which is quite handy. There are various societies run by the students and college major being the department societies, NSS, NCC and the drama dance, music societies .
Admission
The admission took place based on CUET scores. My score was 745/800. This college was my 6th preference on the preference list. I got admission in the round 1 of the admission process only. For the CUET application form, you have to visit the https://cuet.samarth.ac.in/index.php/site/login. After the CUET exam, Delhi University releases its application form for admission which is to be filled where you put your preference list as well. Later the college and university handle the process of allocating the college based on your scores.
