Course Curriculum Overview

I chose my course on the basis of my rank in the JEE exam. I was getting mechanical, chemical, food, and instrumentation branches from which I was more interested in chemicals. Chemical branch teachers are also very supportive and experienced. They are well qualified. Exams are held timely mainly minors and majors every semester. Two minors and one major each semester.

Internships Opportunities

Teachers here are very experienced and have good connections with many companies and students grab good internships and job opportunities. In the 8th semester, there are two either you can go for an internship or a project.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees of SLIET are very much affordable as compared to private colleges. Despite this affordability, there are scholarship opportunities for students whose family income is very low. The training and placement department is trying hard to improve job opportunities in which they are succeeding as well.

Campus Life

Life at the campus is very much pleasant. Big campus, green environment, shopping complex, restaurants, bank, health center, etc. Each and every facility is provided. There are various clubs run by students in which like-minded people gather and explore new things. Examples- technical clubs, drama clubs, social clubs.

Hostel Facilities

There are 3 girls hostel and 10 boys hostel in the campus. Hostel fees are minimal approx 3500/semester. Quality is food in mess is okay. A water cooler and geyser facility is provided. Badminton courts, basketball courts, and swings are also there inside the hostels.

Admission

I took the JEE exam. My rank was approx 1.7 lac in the open category and approx 55k in the OBC category in the jee mains. I gave JEE advanced as well and I cleared the obc cut-off but was not able to clear it. Also, OBC reservation helped me to choose my college.

Good campus life with decent academics

Placement Experience:

Placement are decent.Many companies visit the campus,but getting a good package depends on your skills and performance.Teh university also provides training support. Some companies like Deloitte,nexity consulting,Bigbasket,zepto etc visited are campus.

Average placements for the college. As for the good stduents and competitive students companies r coming and they get internships and jobs . Companies like Deloitte, Adobe , Playsimple. Scalar AI labs , LG etc .Good Stsrtup and well knowed companies gave placements .

Life at Chandigarh University A CSE Student

Placement Experience:

As a BE Computer Science student at Chandigarh University, placements are decent but depend a lot on individual skills. Students become eligible for campus placements from the 6th semester, and most of the placement process happens in the 7th and 8th semesters. Many companies visit the campus every year like Microsoft, Amazon, Cognizant, Capgemini, TCS, Infosys, Wipro and some startups as well. There are a good number of offers made, especially from mass recruiters like TCS, Infosys and Cognizant. The highest package claimed by the university goes very high, even above 40 LPA, but those are for a very small number of students. Realistically, the average package for CSE students is around 5 to 7 LPA. Mass recruiters usually offer packages between 3 to 5 LPA. Around 70 to 80 percent of students get placed if they are consistent with coding and preparation. Those who depend only on college studies may find it harder due to high competition. The university also provides training for aptitude, coding tests and interviews which helps in preparation. After completing my degree, my plan is to get placed in a good product based company. At the same time, I am also focusing on improving my coding skills and working on projects so that I can aim for better opportunities or even higher studies if needed.

Course Curriculum Overview:

1) I want to go in construction industry so i chose this field. 2) Currently our college curriculum is updated so its relevant i will say around 70 to 80% . 3) For improvement Faculties should be brought from all over india as professors here are only concentrated from ludhiana itself. and labs are very old it should be upgraded. 5) In a semester there are 2 monthly exams and one end semester exam. 6) As far as difficuly level of exam is concerned it is not much difficult if someone solved PYQ thoroughly.

True experience of a SLIET Student

I only looked for government colleges as they are affordable and well-reputed. I applied for several colleges and got selected for IIFPT Thanjavur and GGU Bilaspur but I wanted to study mechanical engineering and out of all options, this college was best known for its mechanical engineering course and lab facilities. I choose this college honestly as it was a centeral government college under josaa and has significantly less fees which would help me save for my master's . Internship apportunities in SLIET, Longowal

I applied in sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology in first seven round but I got electronic engineering which I didn't want, so I waited for special round and then I got Computer science. I am in general so I didn't get any quota for admission but obc and sc st have quota in the college. To get into sant Longowal institute of engineering and technology, you have to give entrance exam and the cut off of the college generally goes around 130-140 for general category.
