Course Curriculum Overview

4

A lot of learning in DU is done outside the classroom, but where Ramjas' English department shines is in their faculty. Professors will go beyond coursework and teach you about how to approach literature and write papers, essays, etc in a cohesive manner. This is especially helpful if you plan on pursuing English for your Master and PhD as well. DU being DU, the exams are chaotic and not too difficult to pass. The faculty is great, but hampered by administration.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

Marketing, Finance, and various other internship profiles are offered. Programs like the DE Shaw Finspire fellowship are also a part of campus interaction and opportunities. Ramjas' Consulting and Placement Cell are great. Rely on your own initiative to find internships and use the lessons learnt in DU to become an appealing candidate

Placement Experience

3

Students are eligible for placements from their 5th semester onwards. 100+ offers are given, with the highest package being 21.5 LPA. Not a lot of students get placed as many pursue higher tertiary education

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are around 14,000 a year, but set to rise with CUET. Pinnacle, the Placement Cell of Ramjas, does an exceptional job providing both jobs and internships. The profile of jobs is usually geared towards B.Com or Eco grads, but there are still some opportunities for BA students in the 6 LPA+ range. The fee hike has negatively impacted a lot of juniors, and the diversity of people attended college has also changed for the worse.

Campus Life

3.5

It's DU, you will have fun. The only issue is the large amount of politically charged groups around campus, as well as a lot of creepy men. Ramjas is an old campus, and the facilities are okay. Don't expect ACs and projectors.

Admission

We were the last batch entered through Board Marks. There was no CUET, although that is the current process. Lists open arpu f 99%, and close around 96.5%. Although, the list usually closes earlier, CUET has changed the admission process drastically.

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
