Likes

Classrooms are well equipped with projector and smart screen.
Campus has lot of canteens so its fun there
Infrastructure is good and a lot of greenery around the campus

Dislikes

Canteens are there but not of great quality
Campus is Bit far from city. So city market is not nearby
More emphasis on books than on soft copies

Course Curriculum Overview

Mechanical Engineering was my interest from childhood as i used love sports car and use to watch a lot of shows about car like lippu and pitbull, counting cars, etc. As of now my favorite car is koenigsegg Gemera

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 150000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

Fee structure is fine and according to family background and its annual income.Several Scholarships are also available for category students and they can avail that by filling out some of the forms. I didn't get any

Campus Life

Campus life is not so exciting here. Most of the days its regular just classes. One big event i.e. Utkansh happens every even semester in mostly March, which is organized by Team Cultural Affairs of NIT Jalandhar.

Hostel Facilities

Boys Hostels are bit old so the facility are not so worthy but its fine living here. But fellow mates make it fun there. Meal quality is fine according to cost and variety is there in menu and everyday different food is cooked.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

Admission was through JEE mains.and seat was reserved through Jossa counseling.The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) 2023 has been set up by the Ministry of Education [erstwhile Ministry of Human Resources Development (MHRD)] to manage and regulate the joint seat allocation for admissions to 118 institutes for the academic year 2023-24. This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, IIEST Shibpur, 26 IIITs and 38-Other Technical Institutes Funded Fully or Partilly by Central or State Government (Other-GFTIs). Admission to all the academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

A life in my college.

Placement Experience:

Only skilled or quality are able to get placed. Usually onwards 6th or 7 th semester, students can be eligible depending on the performances. I can do a job if I like to work there. If not, I will do more internships to get hands on experience.

Placement Experience:

Placements are really great of our college as its avg pakage is of 11 lac from computer related branches. Girls are eligible in second year for inters and for boys its generally from 3rd year because of the reservations.

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

Atharv ki dastan nit ki kahani

I got 28102 rank in jee mains and 24576 rank in jee advanced My primary goal was to get into any iit but I can't get due to my rank if I would have got any iit o would have chosen it over In josaa counselling I got iiit bhopal cse which was quite a good option because bhopal is not so distant from home and also has good placement but it has many problems like no permanent campus and hostels etc and very high fees which I can't afford So in next round I got nit jalandhar ice over it because it is a cirtcutal branch enough options in tech and core both morover it comes with a nit tag and less fees and I want clg in north...Read More
