Course Curriculum Overview

I want to join Indian Air Force as a fighter pilot and for that this Course (BE - CSE)offers me technical entry and this course will help me reach to my goal so this is why I choose this course I believe this course need to be more real life based then bookish based exams are every month and this needs to be reduced because then students just do cramming and give exam which is just time pass I beleive

Internships Opportunities

Talking about stipend and companies as I'm in my first year so I really don't have much idea about the college campus placement but as I'm in NCC my seniors are getting placed in companies like IBM and many more with a average package of 5-8 lakhs Also the highest package I've heard about my college is somewhere near to 2 crores but those numbers i don't think so are real

Placement Experience

3

From 6th sem the students are eligible for campus placement Microsoft, Google, Amazon , TCS , Flipkart and many more companies visit to chandigarh university for placement a person who is having more than 7.5 CGPA are getting placed with an average package of 5,00,000 . My plans after getting a degree would be getting into Armed forced

Fees and Financial Aid

In first year I got 50% scholarship based on my result in CUCET so the complete fees is 1,36,200(course fee) +2500 (examination fees). But with 50% scholarship I paid 70,200 for the first 2 semister but it is mandatory to maintain 7.5 CGPA and 75% attendance but unfortunately I scored 7.1 CGPA and I lost my scholarship so from 3rd sem I paid my full fees i.e 1,38,700. Based on CUCET score scholarship is provided 10% 20% 50% and also 100% for scoring more than 90 out of 100 in CUCET . Also for 90% and more 50% merit scholarships is also available. Overall the college is good Based on the scored of CUCET 25 and more - 10% scholarship 30 and moree - 15% scholarship 50 and more - 30% scholarship 70 and more 40% scholarship 80 and more 50% scholarship 90 and more 100% scholarship And also if a student scores more than 90% marks in any recognised board they'll get a 50% scholarship just have to score the minimum marks required to clear CUCET and will get the scholarship. 10% defence scholarship is also provided to serving 5% to retired personal And 15% to war heroes family

Admission

I before applied CGC landran but in 12th i got a back in Physics but in revaluation my scores were changed and my back got cleared and I got my certificate of 12th pass on digilocker but the admission department of CGC ladran refused to accept that document and then I applied to Chandigarh University and I got addmission here .

Faculty

In my college faculty are of both the types some are really friendly and really approachable but some are really strict and are very harsh with the students faculty to students ratio is also fine no issues with that there are total 3 exams MST-I , MST-II , and EST Mst's are of 20 marks and EST is of 60 marks also Practical exams also take place and Practical MST too . I think exams are too much and they should focus more on practical learning

Interview Experience

4

In communication skills class we get many topics to speak on we perform various activities and also many activities like writex and group discussion in GD we have been given a topic and give time of 3 minutes and then we are divided in a group of 6-7 students and are asked to discuss on that topic so after discussing we narrate about it and get scores on how much we speak

Night Life

Overall campus is really good the structure of building are really good the best thing I like about my campus is the atmosphere and the overall structures of the building specially the D- Block is really good and happening. Placement Experience:

Students start becoming eligible for campus placements from the sixth semester, and that’s when most training sessions for aptitude, coding and soft skills also begin. The placement cell is active throughout the year and brings in a mix of product-based, service-based and mid-tier tech companies. The number of offers varies every year, but CSE-related branches usually get the highest share of opportunities. Companies come for roles like software trainee, analyst, QA, support engineering and web development, so there’s a good spread of entry-level roles.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I’d rate the curriculum like 7/10 in terms of relevance and comprehensiveness — it covers all the major CSE subjects like DSA, OS, DBMS, CN, AI, ML, Cloud, Cybersecurity basics, etc., and honestly that was one of the reasons I chose this course because at least the core subjects are solid even if PTU keeps some old-school stuff in the syllabus. The curriculum does prepare you for real-world stuff, but only to a point — like, if you focus on coding labs and projects you’ll be fine for internships, but if you depend only on classroom theory then it won’t help much because industry wants hands-on skills. For higher studies also it’s okay because theory depth in subjects like OS and DBMS is decent enough. But yeah, improvements are definitely needed — some subjects feel outdated, teachers should use more practical examples, and we need more real projects instead of copy-paste lab manuals; also some faculty teach directly from slides which gets boring fast. Exams come twice per semester (sessionals) plus the final end-sem around December/May; they’re mostly easy if you write long answers, but tricky if you rely only on understanding because PTU likes theory-heavy questions. Overall, the system works, but it could be way more practical and industry-focused.

The placement of our college is good but its lack to bring big names but overall it's 3 out of 5 as it's basically focus on bringing software companies but our stream is of electronics so we donot have that much knowledge about coding so we lack to get placed this is the only disadvantage of the placement cell here

In 3rd semester a student is eligible for campus placement but it is all upto to students that they have to maintain a good cgpa and skills for interviews. In Chitkara university a good number of companies visited like Microsoft, google and they provide 100+ offerletters. 85-90 % students get placed in Chitkara university. After getting degree I firstly join to the company .

Placement Experience:

There is an option for students to opt for placements from campus in our university and if we seect that option we are given special training by the university it self in fields which we think we are weak. That include technical and non technical fields like soft skills. University also ties up with other triaining companis to train us in better way by calling tutors from outside the campus for teaching us. Over all if we consider we are already well trained by university to sit for on campus placements and we usually get a good paying job which also helps us to gain more knowledge and improve ourself.
