Basically, most of the students got admissions on the basis of WBJEE rank, it really doesn't matter about your score, many students get admissions as well as DIRECTLY also.
Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is just followed the MAKAUT as per there scheduled just followed it. Total number of semesters 8 and two internals in between every semester. First-year papers are same for every stream and from 2nd years onward its being department specific.
Internships Opportunities
Not That much, students had to arrange by themselves, but in case need any help from college they are always ready to co-operate.
College Events
Events are okay. Fest will take place in the month of September, but the quality of the fest is going down day-by-day. There is a free Wi-Fi facility. A/C rooms are just myths. The food in the cafeteria is not good. rather then that tech fest organized during December.
Fee Structure And Facilities
On my time during admission, it takes around 58k including first semester fees and each semester cost around 37k. Every one-year semester fees increased by one thousand that means fist years 37k 2nd year 38k in that instance. And after completion of the degree, you will get back caution money around 13k.
Fees and Financial Aid
Only if you join the college through the TFW then you are eligible for scholarship rather then that only central and state government provided scholarships are eligible to take
Campus Life
One of the best thing about SVIST is it's faculty members. They are really helpful in each and every step of the college life.From doubt clearing to projects, they are really helpful. Some faculty members are really excellent and some are inexperienced. They also arrange industrial tours and national seminars to increase the knowledge. Total capacity in EEE is 60 and the faculty members are 15. Gender ration 70:30. Labs are moderated and the library is ok. Robotics happened during techfest.
Hostel Facilities
As much I know rooms are twin share basis and foods are good as well as Rent takes 5k around including flooding and lodging. 3 times during college time and 4 times during weekends. But during semester break if you not willing to stay there though you have to pay the same amount.
Alumni/Alumna
Not yet but they are taking that as serious platform trying to start from next year onward. But if you want college will provide the common reference.
Exam Structure
As per the curriculum of MAKAUT, they followed the footsteps 8 semesters and two internals during each semester. Rather then that labs exams are also conducted as per the semester requirement. But they really stricts about the exam process. Rather then that rest all fine.
Admission
I got admission through my AIEE Rank my rank was around 128000 in all India. As I already said rank doesn't matter at all you may get admission directly as well as. I did not appear in Wbjee at that time, so i had to go through the process using AIEEE.
Faculty
As far as the faculty members are concerned, the college has one of the best EEE faculty in West Bengal, but in terms of the placements, it's so underrated.Maximum of the people, got good jobs from the pool campusing. but the list of on-campus companies is not so delightful.
