Remarks

The negative things are that the campus is small, playground is not too good, there is no fresher party, farewell parties, and convocation ceremony.

Entrance Preview

JEE Main, 2014, AIR- 34842. I opt NIFFT because of best quality at less fees. And every year single digit rank holder in GATE are passing out from this institute.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

My branch is MME (Metallurgy and Materials Engineering), so I will focus only on this branch. I had option to choose between NIT Jamshedpur and NIFFT Ranchi. I chose NIFFT. Because of these reasons: 1. Less fees 2. Good infrastructure 3. Faculties of MME department are good 4. Every year single digit rank holders in GATE are passing out.

Internships Opportunities

No, college does not provide any type of internship but recommendation can provide. Some faculties are there to help you to get internship in SAIL, Tata Steel, Tata Motors etc. Also seniors are very helpful to provide internship.

Placement Experience

4.5

Placements are too good in NIFFT. Above 85-90% students get placed every year. Not only in B.tech but M.tech students are also get jobs from here. The average package is around 3.5 lakhs CTC. Highest is 8-12 lakhs CTC. Fortunately I got 8 lakhs CTC.Most of the companies are core companies who visits for campus drive.

College Events

4

The events celebrated in our college are: 1. Janmashtami 2. Ganesh Chaturthi 3. Independence day 4. Navaratri 5. Saraswati Puja 6. Republic day And yes annual cultural cumtechnical fest JINKS PRANAV. Bollywood celebrity night, DJ night, Band night and many cultural programs are there in Jinks. And Pranav including robotics, gaming zone, quizzes, meta symposium etc.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Semester fees is 25600 and exam fees is 1700. Accurate figure of fee structure is not in my mind. Fee structure including Hostel fees, tuition fees, infrastructural fee, maintenance fee, electricity, internet, etc. Mess fees is not including here. You have to pay 90 rupees per day at mess.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes. Steel scholarship is there. Top 5 students from MME branch can get 1,20,000 INR scholarship for 2 years (3rd and 4th). Apart from that merit basis scholarship is also there. Special scholarship for SC/ST students.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus life are not too much adventurous but you can have fun. You can play sports like cricket, football, badminton, volleyball, table tennis, and basketball. Labs are good. You will learn a lot of things from there. Robotics and debates are organise regularly. SAE is also here where students learn and manufacture racing cars.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel facilities are excellent. But AC is not there. If you will going to rent the same type of room outside then you have to pay around 6000-8000 per months. Well furnished rooms, 24*7 electricity, regular cleaning, full tiles bathroom, etc. in the hostel of NIFFT. Mess menu depends on student mess committee. You can change it.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni/senior are very helpful. They guided regularly. They helps to get internship and sometimes job also. They share their experiences which are very helpful.

Exam Structure

Exam is divided into three phases: 1. Mid semester of 50 marks. 2. Internal of 50 marks including class tests, assignments and attendance. 3. End semester of 100 marks. In even semester question papers are external. Passing score is 70 out of 200. The grades are divided as: 70-99 - P 100-119 - D 120-139 - C 140-159 - B 160-179 - A 180-200 - EX.

Admission

I got admission through JEE council, CASB (Central Seat Allocation Board) Counselling Process from July 8th 2014. Similar to JEE Advanced 2014 Counselling, the JEE Mains 2014 procedure will also comprise of Registration, Choice Filling and Choice Locking, Seat Allotment, Refund and Admission procedure for CFTIs, NITs and other participating engineering institutes. I got this institute in second round counciling.

Faculty

4

Faculties are very helpful here. They took interest in your GATE preparation. They are always ready to clear your doubts and take extra classes if you want. Their concepts are too good. They focus more on practical applications of subjects. From clearing concepts to numerical solving ability, they are for you to help at each stage.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The curriculum exam ready for students of mechanical engineering it focuses on industrial level exposure and for other competitive exams like gate and IES with good faculty who teaches almost all concepts. There are labs for each subject in which we get real world application knowledge. Also course is updated regularly as per the requirement of industry . The course can we improved by making course more practical rather than a writing all things on practical it should include project for students. Frequency of exam is that in every 15 days there is a exam with moderate to difficult level.

7th Semester students become eligible for placements. The highest package is offered by Rubrik in 2025 of 1.41 CR(domestic) High paying jobs are mostly for SWE/SDE roles. Percentage of students getting placed in CSE/AIML is 75, ECE 69, EEE 60, Mech 58. My plans after gettting degree is to get into job sector only for a while. No such higher education plans as such.

At BIT Mesra third is like full of practice for placements and final year more of placements activities than studies. So, when all these things are in order placements obviously will be more or less certain and here they are certain only with almost 90% students are places through campus with annual placements of 8-10 lakhs per annum.

One of my colleges best features is its placements program, which offers fantastic chances for students to launch their carrers. In the fifth and sixth semesters, students are prepared with aptitude training sessions, group discussions, and resume construction. About 85% of qualified pupils were placed during the previoes school year. Compared to core engieering fields, placements rates were marginally higher in IT branches.
