Likes

Class rooms are great in this collage. Benches are A class.
Water Facility is Good in this collage. Cold as well normal water we can drink from filter machine.
Teacher's are good. They taught us very well.

Dislikes

Being a rural area, there are few shops, you have to go to the city to buy things.
There are no hostel for 1st , 2nd and 3rd year students. Still in maintenance.

I chose this ECE course because of my interest in it. I heard that the ECE branch is good in this college. In our class majority are boys (12:40 ratio of girls and boys). Our faculty teachers are good enough. Some of them have Ph.D. Exams are easy to pass but if you want to become a good engineer you should study hard.

The placement record of this college was not good. Some companies visited the college like TCS Ninja, etc. but they don't offer a high package. So that average package is 4lpa. And some students get off-campus placement 22LPA. 20% of students get placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

As a 1st year student, you need to pay 13000 at the time of admission for 1st semester. After that 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th,7th, and 8th semester, you need to pay 6000 (per semester). There were scholarships like Swami Vivekanand Scholarship which gives you 5000 per month.

Campus Life

There are so many cultural programs like Freshers Event, Tech o Nike (tech fest), etc. As a first-year student, I don't know about Programme timings. CGEC library has so many books to read, that you need to apply for a library card. Yearly Football tournament organized by the sports club. There are so many clubs like dance club, pratimba, wall magazine club, Creative pens, tech o Nick, etc.

Admission

After the H.S. exam, you need to write the WBJEE exam to get a chance in this college. Approx 8000 rank for CSE branch. After WBJEE counseling you can take Admission to this college. Sc, St OBC reservations are there.

The course curriculum is very relevant and useful for us.They teach data structures algorithm that is very important for college placements and they also teach os, networks and other usefull things that is very important in computer science.They provide very high quality labs and the whole college has a good internet connection.Tecahers are very educated and good they helps us and teaching in very good way .The exams time schedule is also very good if there is any problem the college will change the exam date that is really a good thing.

Story of hit

Placement Experience:

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Like tcs infosys cognizant ibm Capgemini like companies comes every year with good placement and capsitech gives you internship from 3 year . From 7th sem you are eligible for campus placement in 2025 the avg package is 5-7 lpa and Highest lpa is 75lpa . My plan is getting good job in good company

Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

Course Curriculum Overview:

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
