Course Curriculum Overview

5

MBBS degree is a 4 years course with one year of internship. Each and every faculty member of our college is highly knowledgeable , and extremely helpful and strives to make concepts better palatable to us. With more than 100 years of experience in medical teaching, our college provides quality education. Our alumni are a living example that this college produces great clinicians and the legacy of medical education has always been at its zenith here at RGKMCH. All our professors have completed MD in para and preclinical subjects with associated fellowships. Professors of clinical subjects have completed their DM too and all of them have vast knowledge in their fields. 3 semesters are taken throughout the year and they are quite challenging to score with a lot to study and a lot to produce at the moment of examination but regular assessments conducted by various departments like weekly assessments, viva, and practicals ease the process a lot.

Internships Opportunities

5

After you have completed 4 years of MBBS, the last year is of internship where you will be employed in different departments like Eye, Ent, Surgery, Medicine etc., and have a hands-on approach to handling cases and patients. This is a very important phase in one's life as they learn patient handling critical and emergency medicine and overall practical experiences. The salary for an internship is around 30k/month. After the internship is completed one can either appear for NEET PG examinations to apply for a postgraduate course or they can opt for housestaff in any government it private hospitals. Internship here at RGKMCH is full of opportunities to learn and apply them in the future as the footfall of patients is around 5000/day which provides immense learning experience and exposure to the Medical graduates.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are Rs 9000/year only, As it is a government medical college the fees requirement is very low but we are provided with state of the art facilities. There are a plethora of scholarships available in research methodology like ICMR etc.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course is completely based on NMC new guidelines. Along with the theory classes where we know the structure and their working in dissection we actually see them on cadaver . Lectures should be more interesting as it's get boring to literally listen the concepts for first time like a story and at the end we forget everything

Course Curriculum Overview:

Medical field is a really good field in my opinion to serve humankind and learn about science of nature and life!the curriculum is a little overpaced and there are 19 subjects which are taught in a timespan of 4.5 years which is a bit hectic! There are 4 professional exams and 9 semesters which have pretty good difficulty and assess our skills and education. We have regular examinations in around 4-5 months each. Only thing id like to change in the curriculum is better assessment of many topics which are taught pretty well but aren't examined much leading us to waste our time in focussing on them.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well, mbbs is very hard and long term process. You will be bored in 1st year because you cant get real clinical cases. But in Final year, 3rd Prof Part 2, you will get huge pressure. Because there are total 11 subjects, you should study in final year. It is a great burden for all. I'm not satisfied with Nmc curriculum. They are not thinking about students. They are implement their rules in chilled ac room. But they don't know the real scenarios.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite planned and great and has a lot of advantages in having a clinical and learning diagnostic approach to various diseases. One area where the curriculum can improve is by having more practical classes rather than theoretical classes. The exams are quite difficult but are quite planned to make you understand the clinician and the passing percentage is 50 percent.
