Our college has really nice and well maintained dermatology and Gastroenterology department
Annual College Festivals in R.g.kar medical College are really a thing to be proud of
It has a spacious library that has different reading sections.

Dislikes

No playgrounds are present inside campus
Our pre clinical subjects departments are a bit weak compared to other top medical colleges
Cleanliness is often found compromised in the ER and Trauma care centre

Course Curriculum Overview

MBBS course is definitely one of the toughest hurdle of any student who ha recently passed NEET. The syllabus is huge and needs utmost attention and care. Frequency of exams are also tiring for most of the students.

Class Size: 250Course Fees: INR 56000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Internship generally comes after successfully completing finals year MBBS examination. It is cumbersome but a decent paying job and provide ample time to get better in hand on faculties on every departments.

Fees and Financial Aid

Thi college has an annual fee of around 10000 Indian rupees. Different scholarship programs can be availed through this course but none of them are Directly endorsed by the college itself. In campus stipend is pretty much same for other govt medical colleges

Campus Life

Our cultural festival (Lobelia) is one of the best college festivals in west bengal. Overall we have multiple events , sports competition, tournaments throughout the year to keep us engaged. Different student run social groups are also present

Admission

Admission cut off for MBBS in 2020 was around 614. Applications can be done through state counselling. Reservation benefits are same as that o ther medical colleges.our college has additional reservation for students from Nepal.

Faculty

The faculty to students ratio is not definitely a thing to be proud of.Most of the effective teaching is done by the PGTs.Interactions with the teachers varies in different departments. Most of them have a friendly gestures towards the students.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is quite well maintained till 3rd year but the final year syllabus is too vast to complete within 1 year. I feel duration has to be increased a bit. The process of acquiring knowledge entirely depends on the individual pursuing this course as there is no spoonfeeding as in other courses.

The hostel is not good for living,the food and environment is not clean. But the staffs faculties are very good,the seniors are very helpful,not only boring studies,this professional course also provide time for the extracurricular activities which is very refreshing, the college shape each of its students with various positive and negative experiences, memories and of course knowledge.

Rg kar medical college hostel, education and college life review

You have to clear NEET UG cut off for our college which varies according to your category . Cut off is high as our college is third most sought college in WB.
