- Quality of teaching, infrastructure,library, senior junior relationship
- Professors teach very well. Quality of lectures provided are too good
- In dissection enough cadavers are given for each group. No ragging happens.
Dislikes
- First year girls hostel is a dormitory. Rooms are always better. Dormitory is dirty and not maintained. Bathrooms are also dirty.
- Campus is small as it was a private college earlier
- Patient load is much higher . Which is good and bad both.
Course Curriculum Overview
Course is very vast but if you study daily then it will be easy. Don't fall for freshers bias. Exams are definitely easier than neet. Part syllabus completion test are taken after completing a chapter in anatomy department and vivas are arranged to prepare us for physiology exam in every 2 weeks.
Fees and Financial Aid
It's a government college so fees is very affordable. During admission they take 4500Rs in all total including tuition fees. Semester fee is 3000 Rs. So all total around 12K per year for 4.5 years. Scholarships are given to EWS and NCL category . Example ---Swami Vivekananda scholarship . It is 60,000 per year.
Campus Life
Our annual fest is lobelia , academic fest is therapueo, foundation day, intercollege cricket, football tournament is also held. Arman malik was guest in our fest in 2023. Library is accessible for all . You can borrow books from first year and no cost . It is aur conditioned and open from 9 am to 9 pm on weekdays. On weekend it closes at 2 pm Our college is very much engaged in extra curricular activities. There are many dance club , flashmob organising committee, singing club, drama club etc
Hostel Facilities
In first year there is on campus hostel for girls and off campus hostel for boys . 2 dormitories are given to girls which are not that good to be honest .But in second year you will be shifted to a vnlh which is a good quality hostel. Boys hostel for first year is in Maniktala (10mins away in bus) . This is in good condition, 3 sharing rooms are provided. We have 4 canteens in our campus and all of them provide with good quality food in affordable price . Veg , nonveg everything is available.Srays open even on weekend. Hostel allotment is very easy , you will get it without hastle as abundant rooms are available. You just have to submit an application for that. If you want to rent a pg then you can choose TALA area. It's in 5 min walking distance. Pg costs 3k in share with 3 .
Admission
You have to clear NEET UG cut off for our college which varies according to your category . Cut off is high as our college is third most sought college in WB. Offline admission is going to be very easy as seniors will be there to help you . Reservation is according to neet ug criteria. Seat is reserved for gen , gen EWS, OBC b , OBC a , sc , st. Cut off for gen was 14K in 2023
Faculty
250 students and per department 15 professors are available along with PGTs . Faculty to student ratio is good. Faculty are always very helpful. Our college arranges a mentor mentee program where one professor is allotted for 10 students to guide them. Teachers are approachable in all departments except a few .
