Remarks
Management needs to be shaken from time to time. overall it's an above average college. you will end up with good network, an ambient environment for learning but 75% attendance is a strict criteria.
Entrance Preview
M.tech (if you have guts for that!) you need to pass through the holy GATE to get here or in any decent uni for that matter. currently, under DU soon to be a state university, in Delhi meri jaan! (look out for your lungs though)
Course Curriculum Overview
Biochemical engineering is a new branch (you are reading the "wisdomous" words of a founding student :P). would take time to run it in full gear, but we are gearing up (no probs with the funds though). The course curriculum is almost there, would recommend getting in this course after a couple of years later till the time the labs gets its junk in order. The course has 2 compulsory subjects and 3 elective subjects along with labs and one open elective course in the first year. the major project comes along in the sem thereafter along with the departmental electives.
Internships Opportunities
letter of recommendation is of high impact to get in any internship program. the institute provide internship mostly to b.tech and in other branches of m.tech.
Placement Experience
b.tech placements are far better than m.tech but everyone is given equal opportunities. biotech, in general, does have a lower value conversion rate but yet holds better chances as any good institute elsewhere. you are welcome to be a member of the placement cell to ensure a more valuable outcome
College Events
I am yet to witness the college fest, but the reviews that I have heard so far sounds fascinating. technical events are organized on a regular basis which gives you a magnitude of exposure, chances to meet the big players and interact with them helps you develop a strong network
Fee Structure And Facilities
a little above 2 lakhs for the entire course apart from hostel fee which is under 20k per sem. Gate stipend would get you through though. So on and on it breaks even.
Fees and Financial Aid
GATE scholarship of Rs 12,400 pm is provided by AICTE. and student loans are easy to get.
Campus Life
the college won't tend to bind you to classes ample of opportunities to explore and nurture your interests with world-class experts guiding you from time to time
Hostel Facilities
hostels are good, and are provided with outside Delhi candidates as their priority and then as per the distance from the college itself. (so your chances are 100% if you live on mars. you would, however, find affordable P.G. in the nearby area and even if you choose to live far off metros are a bliss. food is edible, but if you are in Delhi you obviously gonna explore that aspect outside rather than in the campus
Alumni/Alumna
linkedin is a great platform for that though you can always get information about your seniors from your faculty
Exam Structure
Exams are nothing new to know about, mid sem end sem and there are gonna be tests, quizzes and assignments, of course, the marks distribution is as per CBCS.
Faculty
Cooperative members of the faculty ensure to solve your problem anytime. But don't expect spoon feeding, you should know your stuff (its a masters course anyways). would guide you through if you do have goals in your mind.
