Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I am very much interested in geography that's why I choose this course ( B. A. (Honours) Geography). Kirori Mal Collge is one of the best and most famous colleges for this course in India because the faculty here is very supportive and highly educated and here you will get a very good chance to interact with a good number of teachers in the department which will enhance your knowledge and understanding about the subject and many more things. There are pre-semester exams for practice to ensure good performance in the final semester exams. The exams are easy if you have completed your syllabus honestly.

Internships Opportunities

4

There is very less internship opportunities you will get in the college. Like you can get vice chancellor internship with a good stipend, in flipkart also. But, you can apply for a lot of internships with stipends from outside sources like internshala. In these internships you can get some office work managemet works etc.

Placement Experience

3

The placement cell of the college is not so much active. There is campus placement for some departments only specially for science and commerce. Students can seat in the placement interview from the 5th semester and a good number of students get jobs in different good companies like Wipro, Amazone, etc. The average annual salary is around 600000 and the highest can go up to 1500000. In the geography department, there is no campus placement but after completing the course we can go for higher studies in India as well as in foreign also and can prepare for civil services or can get a professional course in RS & GIS and can apply for a job and can get an annual package of 6-8 lakhs.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee for this course was Rs.13945 in 2020 which decreased up to rs.1000 every year. But after CUET UG the fee has increased and it is around rs. 16000 per annum. There is a fee concession program in the college to support financially weak students, in which anyone can apply and can get financial support up to rs. 7000. There are many other internship programs with stipends also to support students financially.

Campus Life

4

Life at the campus is awesome. Here we can enjoy many departmental and societal fests like the ' Geofest' of the Geography department, 'Kartavya' of the civil services society, and many more in the month of February and March and the grand annual fest of the college 'Renaissance'. Apart from the enjoyment you can learn and gain excellent knowledge from the library which is the hub of many great books and journals and the infrastructure is also great, the library has comfortable chairs and tables and is fully air-conditioned. Classrooms are also fully air-conditioned and are equipped with modern equipment like projectors, laptops, etc. For refreshments, you can visit the huge field of the campus and can play different games of your choice or can join the gym. To enhance your knowledge you can join different clubs and groups also.

Admission

Kirori Mal College is affiliated to the University of Delhi. To take admission to this college students have to apply for CUET UG, and have to appear in the entrance exam. After the declaration of the result, the college will announce its cutoff marks for admission and those students who come under the merit list can apply for admission to the college. There is caste-based reservation also and there is a special quota for ECA and sports as well. You can apply for CUET UG on Samarth portal and the minimum application fee ranges between 650-750 for different categories.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Too vague to understand, feels extra burden of unnecessary irrelevant topics , extra papers like SEC/VAC simply add to the burden while barely providing with any skills and values as their name suggests . Studying them and preparing for exams add extra stress and unnecessary burden on them , diverting their focus from their core papers , which are already too huge and they study materials or readings simply fail to assist . Areas for improvement would be - proper structured study materials , also proper structured practical subjects / papers for students where they can actually learn or gain knowledge/skills which will be advantageous in their future .

I specifically chose Economics and history to study because I had an interest in both. Economics is pretty self explanatory, learning about how the world economy works is interesting. History on the other hand is interesting because you get to know how civilization and society developed.

German course has high demands and in germany there are relevant chances that I can get good paying jobs,I would say that the teachers are really nice, if you study well they will help you alot and are really appreciable, I would say there are none to improve because it's kinda easy to study the subject on your own, the difficulty of exams are what it should be like, it's good it's great, to make you a better person and student, and the time duration they give is enough to solve each and every exams
