Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I took this course mainly because of my rank and in a college like Jadavpur University, there is nothing like lower department. And it was actually a great deal. There are enough number to teachers. Teaching method is totally upto the mark. All the professors are highly qualified and helped the students in every way. Exams were of moderate difficulty and you can easily pass with good grades if you attend classes regularly and take notes properly.

Internships Opportunities

4

There are a lot of internship opportunities for students starting from third year. Many big companies like Google, Amazon, Adobe visit the campus for taking interns and offer high stipend. Most of the students get PPO after internship.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students of engineering are eligible for placement in the fourth year. While they can sit for internships from third year. All big companies be it IT or Core visits JU. Placement rate it more than 90% each year. Being a software Engineer I can say that department doesn't matter for IT companies if you have the right skills. This year the highest package was of 84 lakhs. There are many international offers also.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is very minimal amount of fees in engineering. Total fees for the duration of 4 years is around 10,000. Students can also avail freeship where the course fee for the entire year is sponsored by the university. This freeship is based on merit and financial condition.

Campus Life

4.5

Campus Life is great with a lots of clubs. Students can choose them according to their interest. Libraries have abundant amount of books and you can read there all day or issue books if you have library cards. Fests are are organised around the year by the students only. Here you can participate in the fests or be a part of the organising team and learn a lot of things. Some of the famous clubs in JU are Music club, dance club, E-Cell, MUN, etc

Hostel Facilities

4

Hostel is provided on the basis of financial condition of the student and distance from the university. The hostel fees are within 1500 each month including electricity. Food quality is good. Mess is maintained by students staying at the hostel on a rotational basis.

Admission

For getting into JU Engineering courses we need to crack WBJEE. You need a decent rank to get a department of your choice. My rank was around 5000 and with OBC-B reservation I got admission in Printing Engineering. Admission process was very smooth. First had to attend counselling, there are different rounds of counselling where you can freeze your choice or wait for next round to get better department. There is physical document verification and then take admission.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Personally i opted for electrical and electronics instead of the branch of my choice is because my scores were not enough to secure a seat in CSE. But EEE is pretty cool as well for those willing to grow in this branch. Our curriculum exposes us to the rapidly growing sectors in the industry and educates us of all we need to know about the course in depth. If you want to continue ahead in a research field, this Institute is the most supportive. The exam questions are also relevant enough and considering we only need to actually stress over end semesters, its fair enough per semester. It would be better if our professors removed the attendance criteria rest im fine with everything else
