Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I have chosen this course because I have more creativity and interest in this field. Also, interior design has more scope in the future. There would be enough facilities for this course with good teaching skills. The teaching method is good. There would be 2 term exams for a year. The exams would be moderate to get passed.

Internships Opportunities

3

The number of companies for internships is minimum. But the work would be very practical so that we can gain knowledge. We can visit the work site directly, work with the company members and gain experience and skills.

Placement Experience

5

For this particular course, the placements are 100%. The number of companies visiting would be less. But every student from this course gets jobs after completing their studies. The average package would be 4 lakhs per annum. My plan is to get placed in a big company, gain experience and start my own business.

Fees and Financial Aid

For the first year, you have to pay 1.25 Lakhs. For the remaining 3 years, 1 Lakh has to be paid. Transportation cost: 40000rs if the distance is below 40 kilometers, 60000rs if the distance is between 40 and 60 km. 80000rs if the distance is above 60 km. Scholarship and financial assistance is good from the college.

Campus Life

5

Life at this campus is very Good and enjoyable. This college is a very good place to have fun apart from learning. There would be many events and functions throughout the college life. The library has a large number of books with wide varieties. Sports and extracurricular activities are just good.

Admission

Students from any board and from any stream (Science and commerce students) are eligible to take the course B.Des Interior Designing. There is no entrance exam for this. Admission form is published online every year which makes the process easy. The application requires 1000 rs as a fee.

Placement Experience:

Placements in FDDI Chennai are average. But the rising competition in this field is also an important factor to consider here. Placements here are not just design based but also with Visual merchandising, retail, production, styling, leather, home furnishing related jobs as well.

Companies like Bata, Puma, Reliance Retail, Adidas, Clarks, etc., have recruited in the past. Internships are also provided, which often convert into job offers. Placement Experience:

Since VIT is known for their campus placements , there is no shortage in placements as of now. This year almost all the students who sat for placemennts who had 8 or above CGPA did well with their placements. The topper is also known to get a placemnt of 50 lpa, but he average remains to be 7lpa. Moreover if you have a good cgpa you will get a good internship by third year.Everything depends on the CGAPA that you maintain through your course.70% of students were placed. Iam most probably going to sit for placements if not I hope i will be trained enough to get placements on my own.TCS is known to be giving the most number of placements folllowed by some other industrial ccompanies and startups.
