What Students Say?
Likes
- I liked the campus environment very much
- I also liked the tech and labs provided for my course (aeronautical engineering)
Dislikes
- Staffs are not upto the expertise level. Some of them don't even teach you classes and they expect us to know everything . This college is best for aeronautical and aerospace engineering for its labs and techs ONLY and not for staffs and teaching wis
- This college has some of the worst services when it comes to due fees, semester results , attendance shortage etc... Their ERP system is trash and they need to work on it
Course Curriculum Overview
It's one of the toughest course in engineering (we literally study rocket science). I would recommend for those who are strong in mechanical physics, mathematics to take this course after 12th if they are interested. One of the benefits of my course in my college is that I have more practical session, so I could easily learn about things which are happening in real life. This is a 4year course (8 semester). The first 2 semester is basic for all the non cse courses. The next three years you would study under your department In 2nd year you will study the basics of everything you are going to study in third and fourth year. Subjects like fluid mechanics, structural mechanics, thermodynamics, principles of flight etc... Are some subjects which you need to be strong in order to understand the rest. Also from 2nd year you will have DE (department elective) where you can chose your interest of domain. It is advisable to stay in one domain but it the individual choice. I personally didn't stay in one domain for all semester. I changed domains in DE and it didn't affect me In third year, you will start to study your actual course in the 5th , 6th and 7th semester. These semester are critical for your knowledge in aeronautics/aerospace. In the last semester, you will either complete an project with a company (like an internship) or you can do a project on your own. During your course, after every year ends, you must complete an internship in the summer holidays. The college starts at 8:30am and ends at 3:30pm. College works from Monday to Friday (in some rare cases saturdays too) Each semester has two CIA exams followed by semester practical and theory examination
Placement Experience
I am currently in 3rd year. From what I have heard and seen. There are core companies like Boeing, indigo etc.. who are regularly coming for campus placement. This year I heard that about 11-12 people for selected in Boeing for a package of 9-10 LPA. I can say one thing for sure that placements are only based on your individual performance and your skill set. Just learning the course isn't going to land you a job. All the people who are competing for this job has done the same thing like you did (ie complete this course). Try to know your basics very well instead of faking your CGPA. Attend lectures, competition and internship to keep that resume look unique
Fees and Financial Aid
Initially they had an entrance exam but it was of no use as I came to know that everyone is paying the same fees. For my course (btech aeronautical) the first year fees was about 2,25,000 INR and for then next three years it was 1,81,000 INR.
Campus Life
Rest of the things about the college are good. We have fest regularly happening. People from all around India come here to study. I think everyone would get along with atleast someone in the campus. There aren't any strict rules unlike in other colleges but they also expect you to use this freedom wisely. Girls to boys ratio is about 15:45 for my course in engineering but it changes for other courses. Campus Life in over is good ????.
Admission
I did my JEE mains preparation for 2 months and got 87.8 percentile but the cutoff for the year 2022 was 88 percentile for general category. I still had option to join various NITs for cse and other courses, but I have made my mind to study only aeronautical engineering. So I did some research and came to know about this college. I am saying this again. This college is the best for this course apart from IITs. But the faculties may not be what you expected. There are entrance exams but I personally think it's a scam. You will get a direct addmission in this college
Night Life
I am not a hostler so I have no opinion about it. Although I have heard some news from my friends that the hostel management is worst and I have seen people moving out after their first year. There are many cool places inside campus to hangout. There is a good library, average mess and great views and sceneries
