Admission
Why I Chose FDDI Chennai I chose FDDI Chennai because it offers a specialized curriculum in Fashion Design / Footwear Design / Leather Goods, with strong industry linkages, good infrastructure, and a practical-oriented approach. Its backing by the Ministry of Commerce & Industry gives it credibility, and the placement support is also a strong factor. Why I Couldn't Make It to Other Colleges NIFT – Very high competition. I appeared for the entrance but my rank wasn’t sufficient for the center/course I wanted. Other Private Colleges – I was selected, but the fee was too high and ROI didn’t justify the cost. FDDI Admission Process 1.Entrance Exam (AIST) FDDI All India Selection Test (AIST) is a written exam covering GK, aptitude, design awareness, and English. 2. Application Form Apply online through the FDDI website. Choice of campus and program is selected during this step. 3. Result & Counseling Based on AIST score and seat availability, students are called for counseling and seat allotment.
Faculty
Faculties are very friendly and faculties teaching methods are so good . Faculties help students about the curriculum and personal issues.two time exam conducted.one is midterm and another one is endterm exam or semester exam.exam is written and practicals.exam conducted by the faculties.
Interview Experience
No, FDDI Chennai generally does not conduct group discussions or interviews for admission. The selection is primarily based on the All India Selection Test (AIST) conducted by FDDI. Admission is given based on the AIST rank/merit, followed by counseling and seat allocation.
Night Life
Nightlife around FDDI Chennai is relatively quiet and limited, as the campus is located on the outskirts, near Irungattukottai (SIPCOT area), which is more industrial and residential. On-Campus: Campus life winds down early; most students stay in hostels. Students often spend evenings hanging out in common areas, watching movies, or working on assignments. Occasional late-night events or DJ nights are organized during college fests. Off-Campus: For more vibrant nightlife, students usually travel to Chennai city (around 1–1.5 hours away), where there are: Malls and multiplexes Restaurants and cafés Lounges and clubs in areas like T. Nagar, Nungambakkam, or Besant Nagar
