Remarks

The DJ Academy is operating under the umbrella of National Institute of Design. Our institute has maintained the standard equivalent to the NIDs in terms of academics, placement, infrastructure and other facilities they provide

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course structure covers a wide range of topics like communication design to user interface design. I always wanted to learn a lot about the design and creative aspects of life. DJAD gave me a little more than that. Our college also have academic Partnership with Northumbria University, UK for design education

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee for the entire course is a little more than 15 lacs. There are options for availing scholarships, or else you can take a student loan like me

Fees and Financial Aid

The students with an annual family income of less than 10 lacs/ annum are eligible for the scholarship. The scholarship will be given to meet 80% of the tuition fees.

Campus Life

3.5

Cultural dance performances, poetry, skits, western dance, national holiday celebration and many more events made the campus life lively. I made a lot of friends both from my batch and other classes. The entire campus is ragging free and had a creative vibe all around

Hostel Facilities

4

Separate hostel facility is available for boys and girls. The hostels can accommodate all the students being admitted to the college. Mess food is good, solar water heating facilities are also provided in the hostels.

Admission

Admission is on the basis of entrance exam which the DJ academy conducts on their own.

Faculty

3.5

Made me a better human being and taught me valuable life lessons while in the process made me a Designer. All credit goes to our mentor Prof. Balaram and all the faculties who gave their valuable time in the class and outside. Because of the space design which gives you space for the informal learning to happen I learned a lot.

Placement Experience:

Placements in FDDI Chennai are average. But the rising competition in this field is also an important factor to consider here. Placements here are not just design based but also with Visual merchandising, retail, production, styling, leather, home furnishing related jobs as well.

Companies like Bata, Puma, Reliance Retail, Adidas, Clarks, etc., have recruited in the past. Internships are also provided, which often convert into job offers. Average packages are modest but growing, depending on the student's skills and specialization. If No Campus Placement: If a student doesn’t get placed through campus recruitment, employability remains high due to: Industry-Relevant Skills (CAD, pattern making, material knowledge) Strong Portfolio Development Entrepreneurship Opportunities Freelancing in fashion, styling, or product design Further studies (Master’s programs in design, management, etc.) Future Plans May Include: Starting your own brand or label Working in design studios or export houses Applying for government or private sector roles Studying abroad or pursuing a specialized diploma/PG course

Placement Experience:

Thr placements for bdes is not as good as btech ofcourse, which is why a lot of them prefer to apply for it individually as I said, but a good training is given for sitting on placements on our 3rd and 4th year of the course. The minimum cgpa for sitting for placements is 8.5 and as of what I know 9 lakh is the estimated package. I am planning to pursue masters after my degree and in between If I want a break I thought of gaining some work experience by working for an year so. I thought of applying for companies myself instead of sitting for the placements from university itself.

Placement Experience:

Since VIT is known for their campus placements , there is no shortage in placements as of now. This year almost all the students who sat for placemennts who had 8 or above CGPA did well with their placements. The topper is also known to get a placemnt of 50 lpa, but he average remains to be 7lpa. Moreover if you have a good cgpa you will get a good internship by third year.Everything depends on the CGAPA that you maintain through your course.70% of students were placed. Iam most probably going to sit for placements if not I hope i will be trained enough to get placements on my own.TCS is known to be giving the most number of placements folllowed by some other industrial ccompanies and startups.

My 4 years at NIFT was utterly an experience! I cant describe it probably in a word but I can say that it has built me as a person, it has thought me how to deal with different people from a worker or an artisan to at CEO or MD of an organisation, it has thought me to be confident at the same time humble. How to work under immense pressure and time constrains. All in all NIFT has acquiped me to take on this world and make my mark with the skills and practices that I learnt in these 4 years.
