Life at NITJ

I liked mechanical engineering that's why I chose this course. The curriculum here at NITJ is not upgraded. Students will learn software like Autocad etc which are in demand in the industry. The faculty is strict but they are knowledgeable. Almost everyone here has done Ph.D. Like other colleges here also some teachers are good at teaching and some are not. The exams are mainly conceptual based and every 3 months you'll have to give an exam

Students usually sit in the campus placement from the 4th year that is 7th semester. Many companies visit our college like Amazon Flipkart microsoft reliance industries maruti suzuki etc. The highest packages are usually taken by cs students. The highest package is usually around 40-45 lakhs given by either Amazon or Flipkart. The average placement is around 10 lakh. Almost 90 percent of the students get placed.

The fees of the institute are generally the same every year as it is decided by the central government. Students whose family income is less than five lakhs can get two third waiver in their tuition fees and those whose family income is less than one lakh can get a full waiver in their tuition fees by providing the income certificate. Almost everyone gets placed but the package depends on individual skills and knowledge.

The college has many clubs including technical and other activities like for dancing we have bhangra club for automobile enthusiasts we have avishkar and Daksh club etc. The college is equipped with a library and you will get all the books needed in your 4 years of course there. The college technical fest techniti is conducted in the month of February and the cultural fest utkansh in the month of March. In both fests, other colleges also visit and enjoy the fest. The college also provides adequate sports facilities for students who want to participate in sports. The college has a gymnasium and gym available for students.

Admission to NITJ is through Jee mains examination and students find its application on its official website. The form for the first attempt is usually available from November. After clearing jee you have to sit in jossa counseling through which you will be allotted the college based on your percentile and preference. The minimum percentile needed for admission in any course in NITJ is approx 94 percent for general category students. Students in sc st and obc categories can get reservation benefits and can get admission at a lower percentile than general category students but in that case, they have to submit the caste certificate to jossa.
