What Students Say

Likes

Security system of this college is very good. There are no issues like ragging or anything like that.
Campus is quite beautiful, also there are 3-4 canteens which are open till late night.
Overall life experience is very good at campus.

Dislikes

Library is a bit smaller and has less books compared to other colleges.
There is only one study room and that too is very small.
There is only one gym at the campus so it's very time consuming due to rush.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose Mechanical Engineering because I wanted to learn about machines. The faculty-student ratio is ok there are almost 450 btech students and 25-26 faculty members. Qualification for a person to become a faculty member is majorly their research work and their projects.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 226000 per year

Internships Opportunities

Many internship opportunities are available for students in circuital branches like Amazon, Flipkart but the problem lies with students in core branches because hardly one psu comes to the college for hiring interns and one company also hires hardly 1-2 students, remaining students go for internships on their own.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is simple:- for the general category in the first semester 88000 (academic fee)+35000 (35000 is hostel+mess fee). After the first sem, 88000 was the academic fee, and 25000 as a hostel+mess fee. For students with low family income scholarships and fee waivers are available.

Campus Life

Life is very good on campus. Institute has a lush green campus of 155 acres. Technician is an annual fest especially for mechanical engineers while utkansh is another cultural fest celebrated every year. Classrooms are well maintained. You may feel a shortage of some books in the library. Extracurricular activities and sports facilities are also up to the mark.

Hostel Facilities

The hostel facility is just ok. In This college currently, hostels are running at the maximum limit. They are putting two students in a single-person room. Talking about meal quality which is also just ok Registration process for a hostel is also available online on the institute website. Hostels are quite affordable.

Hostel Fee: INR 50000 per year

Admission

Eligibility:- JEE Main. The application form is available online on the college portal. There are no such application fees but you'll have to submit some 40k to josaa to be eligible to form an application. Seats are reserved for gen(was),obc, SC, ST, and pwd. Also, a fee waiver is available for students with low family incomes.

The curriculum changes as per the need of the industry norms so that student can attain knowledge about the basics as well as the niche technologies.This is the aspect to choose the course and the lab work and continuous competitions help us with the industry trends. The management could be improved. The frequency of exams help us learn well and difficulty is between easy to medium.

A life in my college.

Placement Experience:

Only skilled or quality are able to get placed. Usually onwards 6th or 7 th semester, students can be eligible depending on the performances. I can do a job if I like to work there. If not, I will do more internships to get hands on experience.

Honest is the best Policy

Placement Experience:

Placements are really great of our college as its avg pakage is of 11 lac from computer related branches. Girls are eligible in second year for inters and for boys its generally from 3rd year because of the reservations.

NIT JALANDHAR

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is interactive and have added various new thing like in the engineering graphics subject they have added the software like autocad instead of traditional drawings... And in eme they provide the real life assignments projects . The exams are of approx 3 hrs and difficulty level is what that is taught in class

Chandigarh University: Is it worth the investment?

Placement Experience:

The student become eligible for campus placements from 5th semester. The companies visited per year are approximately 200. They claim 100% placements but in reality they divide students into placement and non- placement batches called tpp and ntpp. If you slip up even once, you will be debarred from the tpp group. The highest package is 53 LPA. The average package is 4.5 LPA. Companies like JP Morgan, TCS, Capgemini, PlaySimple, Cognizant, Nokia, Philips, Morgan Stanley, PWC, KPMG, EPAM, Watchguard, High radius, OYO, Coding Ninjas, Samsung, etc have already came. More companies are yet to come. Since the student intake is too much, placements are really hard to get since there is too much competition. In the end, people get hired in mass recruitment companies and get minimum pay of 3-4 lpa. My plans are apply for off-campus jobs and start working in corporate after the degree. If I don't get a job, I haven't decided what I will do next.

Placement Experience:

Placements are good but I am more looking towards offcampus placements. I will do internships from my second year and in first year I'll make the base. I contacted to some of the seniors they said doing hardwork will definitely lead to a good package.

Placement Experience:

After 4 semester students are eligible for sitting in placements. There are alot of company visiting and alot of them take 2-3 with really good package and some handful with good enough packages of nearly10 lpa and the highest package was i think of in last month was of around 60 lpa . My plans after getting a degree is too work my way through companies to a FAANG Companies

Atharv ki dastan nit ki kahani

I got 28102 rank in jee mains and 24576 rank in jee advanced My primary goal was to get into any iit but I can't get due to my rank if I would have got any iit o would have chosen it over In josaa counselling I got iiit bhopal cse which was quite a good option because bhopal is not so distant from home and also has good placement but it has many problems like no permanent campus and hostels etc and very high fees which I can't afford So in next round I got nit jalandhar ice over it because it is a cirtcutal branch enough options in tech and core both morover it comes with a nit tag and less fees and I want clg in north...Read More
