Remarks

One of the good remarks about this college is that the teachers are not very strict in the matters of attendance which is a good thing considering the vastness of knowledge a student is challenged with. But also there should be good infrastructure and professors for better understanding of our field. People always have a specific mindset before getting into higher education which is completely annihilated when you go though these college years.But Life is about change . There were definitely some changes good or bad .

Entrance Preview

After giving my 12th std examination, i had to sit for MH-CET entrance exam.Although i had not scored very good in this exam, my chances to getting into engineering seemed thin. I was very upset but during that time a new bill was passed by the high court which considered students secondary subject for admission which was Computer science for me.Luckily i came to this college named AISSMS College of Engineering and gave a small interview to the College director and got the admission. I choose Computer science because i have always been lenient on these wondrous world of digital innovations.

Course Curriculum Overview

Well i love the course i choose. But let me tell you the college learning experience was horrible . The focus was entirely on theoretical learning and scoring marks . I always thought that when you pursue a engineering field , I would become completely well versed with all the practicality of this field . But that was not the case and i would like to blame the current education curriculum which is just producing robots who can't think for themselves. Most of the Computer Science concepts i had to learn outside the curriculum for better understanding.

Internships Opportunities

No college did not provide a internship so i had to rely on external ways.

Placement Experience

Placement is a big issue nowadays in almost every college. Companies don't find the graduates they are looking for and good companies usually skip colleges with bad scores.Students with 60% criteria were only given a chance for interview which i think is unfair.

College Events

We had two cultural events per year and they were really really fun.

Fee Structure And Facilities

I would like to mention this that the current fees structure for higher education in India is not at all affordable . Also the quality of the learning passed though these college is not worth the fees paid by us.

Yes our college did provide a good network for alumni.

Exam Structure

No the exams were not that frequent and i wish the labs would be that frequent.

Faculty

Faculty was horrible in most of the cases but some the professors were really good. Its like finding a good faculty for a subject was like finding a needle in a haystack and our very own education system is to blame.

placements start in 7th - 8th semester . Companies like wipro cisco and TCs etc visit. Average package is 4-5 LPA , and highest I could say 9 to 10 LPA .. my plans would be- if not got high paying job on campus I will try off campus too..

Placement Experience:

In my college students become eligible for campus placements from 7th semester and every year many companies come for hiring. Recently companies like TCS Accenture Cognizant Hitachi JSW Group Philips Axis Bank and some startups also visited so we get both IT and core chances. As per the latest data the highest package was around 24 LPA and the average stays around 6 to 6.5 LPA for most students and the lowest offers start from 3.5 LPA so it depends a lot on the role and company. Many students get placed but it mostly depends on skills performance and branch so it is not guaranteed for everyone. I feel the college gives decent chances but we also have to do our own preparation because competition is high. If I dont get placement from campus then I will try off campus also because there are many openings outside specially in IT. Overall placements are good for this level college and since companies keep coming for drives students who prepare properly usually get at least one offer.

Course curriculum is also good and it is explained in detail on the college's website and there are labs for the courses which made learning fast and easy. Relevance(industry alignment)->8/10 The curriculum is designed to keep up with the industry needs especially in fast growing fields like computer science, management, design and pharmacy. Updated course such as AI, machine learning, cybersecurity, data science and 3D printing are included for tech students. Industry exposure depends on the students initiative it's not equally strong in every department. Comprehensiveness-> 7.5/10 First year courses focus on building strong basics in science, mathematics and communication skills. Later semesters introduce specialisation, electives, research projectsand soft skill training. The curriculum also includes personality development, entrepreneurship and innovation modules. A few departments could integrate new technologies fatser into the syllabus. My experience of iiit pune

Placement Experience:

Students become eligible for campus placements once they enter 3rd year of college. Some notable companies that visit the campus is nomura, walmart, amazon, nvidia and they take 5-6 candidates each while nomura takes 15-16 per year. The highest on campus is 43 lakhs while off campus is around 1.4cr. average package is 14-15 lpa mostly for swe roles. Percentage student getting placed is 50% oncampus and if we add off campus the number goes to 80%. I plan to work in the industry for 2-3 years and then try to go for masters.

Admission: I had also applied for top colleges of Pune with tech related branches but the main reason I can't get their is due to high cutoff of colleges I had applied for top colleges like VIT Pune,PCCOE Pune ,PICT Pune ,D.Y.Patil Pune etc and through cap process depending on my percentile I get my current college AISSMS IOIT Pune and I confirmed for these I sorted the colleges depending on some parameter like last year cutoff, placement percentage, autonomous or not etc My college is in Maharashtra so around 80% of seats given to the students who are admitted through Maharashtra state entrance exam for engineering that is MHTCET and remaining 20% are seat are for candidates who admitted through JEE MAIN score so most students peffered MHTCET Exam for admission in our college The overall addmission process is like after declaration of result student make list of colleges and branches those he want to take that list is in a sequential manner then student had to upload that list on portal of MHTCET after 2-3 day result of that list comes and the college which is allocated seen to us then it depend on us that we want to confirm that college and branch or go for next round total 3 rounds are take place in that process and after confirmation of college reporting has been done offline to the college for final addmission process...Read More

Reviewing the journey up till now !!

I gave several exams and cracked them , but due to some or the other factor , I couldn't choose any other college. Due the ongoing CBSE boards, I couldn't register for MHTCET which is apparently a state exam for MAHARASHTRA . You can opt for different colleges in MAHARASHTRA after giving this exam. I gave JEE and scored decent enough to fit the remaining 20% JEE based intakes in AISSMS COE. I am interested in the fiend I chose and look forward to explore myself within it....Read More
