Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

Nowadays, everything is revolving around "data" and hence dealing with the data is equally important. So, keeping this in mind with futuristic thinking, I pursued this course. Faculty: Student Ratio ~ 1:5 Every faculty here is well-qualified from reputed institutions. Their teaching methodology is also quite good. The exams were divided into two halves for each semester namely, Mid-sem (25 marks) and End-sem (50 marks). Mainly, exams are concept based but going with the professor's notes and class material, anyone would easily score decent marks.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

Microsoft: Job: Data Engineer Stipend: 60k Adrosonic: Job: Data Analyst Stipend: 35k Wipro: Job: Analyst Stipend: 20k TCS: Job: Frontend developer Stipend: 33k Projects are also offered with each of the respective professors guiding them.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students, after the 5th semester, can apply for internships and after the 6th-7th semester can apply for in-campus or off-campus job drives. 104 Companies such as Adrosonic, Wipro, Microsoft, TCS, etc. come every year to hire a huge bunch of students. Highest package offered was 16 lakhs And the average package was around 6 lakhs. Percentage of student who got placed in companies was around ~ 80% My plan after getting the degree is to apply for a position of Data Scientist in a good MNC.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure for each Year varies Total fees for First Year are ~ 180000 Total fees for the entire 5 years ~ 120000 (including hostel and mess) The hike policy is there, somewhat 5% or like that. Here, scholarships are also provided for meritorious students and students who are financially weaker. Name of scholarship: GP Birla Scholarship.

Campus Life

5

There are many events that take place every year, namely BITOTSAV, PANTHEON, etc. The library is well maintained and quite huge, where every course related and extra books are available. 4 Ac's are there in every classroom, along with fans. There is a huge sports stadium, where every kind of sport can be played, from footballer to lawn tennis. Also, there are 2 gyms separately for boys and girls with no gym fees. There are around 25-30 clubs and societies, run by College students, which are very supportive and helpful for your career and life opportunities.

Admission

The entrance exam required for taking admission in this course is JEE Mains. You are required to score a minimum of 75% marks in your 12th boards and a decent rank in JEE mains. Reserved seats are also there for ST/SC/OBC/EWS.

Actually biotechnology is an interdisciplinary program where we have to learn mostly the practical skills but there is no such equipment for doing a decent type of research work as they are not in a working condition. So first it has to be corrected and new equipment should have to buy for a making a good laboratory.

Placement Experience:

The campus placement in our college is held after the completion of all 6 semesters and there is very limited number of companies that come over to offer placement but off campus placements starts from 6 semester onwards. The companies visited were Vedanta for graduate trainee offering 1.40 - 4.65 LPA Tata Power for graduate trainee offering 1.90 - 3.69 LPA Only 40% students got placements. Many students didn't take part as the packages very low & even the perks were not so good. I planned to do higher studies in M.Sc. As the subject was very intriguing I preferred pursuing more knowledge.

As the session started late so we have less time to complete the syllabus but it will be fixed after one semester. Teachers don't go very fast in order to complete the syllabus they focus on that the students are understanding the lectures delivered. The frequency of exam is ok 2 in one semester. Difficulty of exam is moderate to hard

Course Curriculum Overview:

I am chosen this course because mathematics is my strongest subject from all of the others that's why I can choose mathematics. Faculty member of our college is very supportive but some of the teachers are very rude behaviour. Our college teachers are very disciplined about teaching and any project work. My class have 250 students. Every semester our college takes mid sem exam then a viva exam, assignment on every paper, group discussion, surprise test. The exam pattern was based on their classes. The exam pattern is moderate most times.
