Remarks

the college is very good and has a good potential to improve.Being in the best cities of the country makes it even a better experience. The experience so far has been amazing and hope it becomes even better in the next three years. Coming to PEC was just by chance. But never did you know that this random happening would turn out to be so good. I just love the life here at PEC as it is so happening and one gets to experience new things happening in the college and also outside the college in Chandigarh.

Entrance Preview

I wrote jee main , jee advance and BITSAT.Having good rank in the jee main landed me in this college. my first preference was electronics and i got it in this college in the first round of seat allotment itself. no there was no interview process required on the jee main rank was sufficient to get admission.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

the course curriculum is good when compared to other colleges.Electronics and communication course is good and meets the requirements of the industry. But they start teaching core subjects from second semester which i think should be taught from the first semester itself. Practical learning is give good amount of focus and as i have mentioned earlier labs for all core subjects are conducted every week. And also to give students of the industry industrial tours are organised by the college.Research work is mainly done by the 3rd and fourth year students. many elective options are available like management courses chemistry courses etc.

Internships Opportunities

yes college provides internship to students for 6 monts in the third year.I havent gone for any internship as i am still in my second year and hope to get a on campus internship next year.As far as stipend is concerned i have heard it is around 30000 rs per month.

Placement Experience

4

The placements are decent enough in all branches. However, in electronics, it is quite difficult to get a core placement as only a few core companies come for campus placements. Nevertheless, the majority of the students of ECE batch got placed in ComputerScience companies . Otherwise, ComputerScience is the best in placements. Even mechanical and electrical are doing quite well. The placement is about 90% for all eligible students for all batches. Companies like amazon ,texas instruments,Goldmann Sachs etc visit campus. For electronics, the average package for previous year batch is 8 lakhs per annum.

College Events

5

only one fest happens every year which is the pecfest. it is one of the biggest fests in north india, average footfall is 40000 over a span of three days. it is organised by the students and yes the college provides some funds but the rest are collected by the students from food stalls etc in the form of rent in advance.

Fee Structure And Facilities

the fee per semester is around 55500rs.And the hostel charges are 60000 for one year which does not include mess fee.The mess fee is about 1500 per month and also it may be even lesser if a person goes home and fills a mess off form. it is affordable for me and i think for every student from a middle class family.

Fees and Financial Aid

no scholarship is provided. education loan can be taken by student in the bank at the college.

Campus Life

3.5

There are ample amount of opportunities college is providing to get involved in extra ordinary skills activities and extra programmes which are essential for my personal life as well as professional life. ye being a part of dramatics club has made me explore the actor inside me.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

yes i reside in hostel.Rooms on Sharing basis are given to first year students however after first year single rooms are given. no PGs are provided by the college but students do stay in PGs in the nearby sectors.Annual hostel fee is 60000rs.the food is good taking into account the price they charge for it.

Alumni/Alumna

the interaction with the alumni was amazing. one of my cousins is also an alumni of this college. college provides a platform for student-alumni interaction annualy on the alumani meet. alumni contribute in terms of providing funds for building more labs ,parking spaces etc.

Exam Structure

exams happen 2 every semester(mid semester and end semester exams).there are labs conducted for every core subject once a week. And yes i get tired on days on which we have labs for boring subjects.

Faculty

3.5

All of the teachers are qualified with at least, M.Tech and many are even phd holders. Some teachers are quite interactive while others are just very strict and it becomes difficult for students to open up with them. Some of the older faculty members really know how to teach and are able to effectively communicate what they are trying to teach us, however, some other older faculty members and some new faculty members are not that good in teaching even though I am convinced that they possess the appreciable knowledge to teach their subjects. Overall, the faculty is qualified but some of them don't remain updated with the changing technology.

Course Curriculum Overview:

For improvement in teaching methods, they can go digital, like using smartboards, or use more practical teaching methods, or maybe just improve the way of teaching simply. Teaching methods here really need upgrades, mostly students here have to rely on youtube when exams come near.

Placement Experience:

The placements have been lowered by 10-20% recently, but they are getting better. You will get a job if you manage cgpa above 7 and are decent with your skills, but then don't dream for 20lpa + jobs, you need to work upon yourself in silence to get 25-50 lpa packages and they do happen in our colleges, highest package in electrical 2024-25 was 52 lpa and in ece cse they had 61 lpa. Companies start coming in 3rd year for internships, only 10% manage to get intern in 3rd year, companies like microsoft, atlassian, flipkart, mercedes, jp morgan etc. they do come. Placement perecentage is like 75-80% in electrical and it is very low in civil (around 40-50%), in cse it is like 90% or even higher. My plan is to get an intern asap. (Maybe in 2nd year theough offcampus)
