The reputation of college is really good and It provides the students a plethora of opportunities to excel in different fields be it Technical, Administrative, Cultural, owing to the various clubs and societies in the College

To take admission in PEC University of Technology, Appearing for the JEE mains exam is compulsory and the Counselling is done through JAC, Chandigarh.

Course Curriculum Overview

Electronics and Communication Engineering is generally the second preference to CSE, because one can later opt to go for Non-Core placements as well. Classrooms are well built having projectors for teaching subjects digitally. There are separately designated labs for different subjects with up-to-date eqipments and technologies.There are 5 excellence centres in the University with multiple researches being done currently,

Internships Opportunities

There is a 6 month internship semester for the B.tech pursuing students where they have to work in Industries/Companies to gain exposure and experience on the basis of which they are graded. The internship can be done Via On-Campus interviews or even through Off-Campus screening methods.

Placement Experience

The previous year placement scenario is remarkably good compared to other engineering colleges around. 100% students got placed with companies like SanDisk, Amazon etc. taking picking students from the campus with average Package being around 6 lakhs

College Events

PECFEST is the annual techo-cultural fest of the University. Apart for it, Various Paliamentary debating competitions, Model United Nations, Technical Display fests are organized throughout the year.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Per semester fees for the BE/B.tech. Programme is around 55k which is very less compared to the other private universities.

Faculty

The faculty is well qualified with most Professors being M.Tech and PHd scholars. Most professors teach the syllabus through offline and interactive digital medium as well. All the professors are approachable and once can personally meet them in the offices to clear doubts. Standard of teaching is good.

PEC - History and optimism

Likes

The campus is over 100 years old and has strong alumini network.
Placements are good as per my rank in JEE
Peer group is good and there are diversed people all around

Dislikes

Infrastructure is really old; but then again legacy comes at a cost.
Campus is smaller as compared to NITs and IITs ; so is the funding
Its still not an institute of national importance. Has no nation wide recognition

Placement Experience:

Since the first batch of VLSI is yet to be placed I would take example of ECE for reference. Out of 110 students which sat for placements , 91 got placed , median of 13 lakh with avergae of 16 lakh and 61 lakh highest on campus. These are of 24-25 and this year placements are better as even apple visited us after an hiatus of 3 years. In core electronics , Samsung Rnd , TATA electronics , Cadence , Micron etc visited for tech , UKG , PhonePay , Oracle , Accenture etc vist in consulting and finance , Mckinsey , JP Morgan , GoldmanSachs , AmericanExpress visit. After my btech I plan to do a job.

Likes

Syllabus is good, it is very versatile and updated according to the industry standards
The University also has a good events and also a good night life
The infrastructure is very modern with unique outlets to eat in

Dislikes

There is a uniform system which is very bad according to university
Very strict rules regarding in and out of the University
The outlets in university are quite expensive

Course Curriculum Overview:

I would rate the course plan around 7 out of 10 in terms of relevance and depth. I chose this course mainly because it includes core tech subj like DSA, DBMS, OS, AI and cloud, which are useful for jobs in tech field. The presence of lab work and proj based learning also influenced my choice. The curriculum gives a fair base in theory and basic prac skills. It helps in campus place prep and also builds base for higher study like MTech or MS. But real world skill still depends a lot on self study, online course and side proj. Some topics feel updated, but a few subj are still too theory heavy and not linked to real case use. Exams are held twice as mid test and once as end term in each sem. There are also quiz, viva and lab eval. The level is moderate. If you attend class and revise notes, it is manageable. For improve, more live proj, hack event, ind visit and case study should be added. Teach method should shift more to code demo and less slide read

SVIET: my turning point

Likes

Special labs for the Super60 students only
Special faculty offered to the super60 batch
DCA interaction classes every week for placement drills

Dislikes

Too much interference in students personal life
Discrimination in fee stucture, uniques and Super60 and non super60(either in terms of facilities or branding) batch
Too much pressure, harrasment, irrelevent burden, abusive behavior of the management and some of the faculty members. Calls, parents for every small thing to make them worried, this is bad specially for the students living far away from their house..

Placement Experience:

As a Btech student, we get elegible in 7th sem for the placement drives virtuos, bebo, Antire are such companies that visits our campus highest package: 800000 LPA lowest: 1,50000 LPA 90% students get placed I would love to go into corporate life after degree

Life at Panjab University

Likes

Student who are eager for there startup gets better chance
Campus life is best students get chance to interact with different departments students
Students politics is major highlight cause it helps one to understand there voting right and value of one vote

Dislikes

Can be seprate hostel for each departments
There is no such bad thing that I came across then monkeys in University campus near hostels
No shop is open in University after 9 pm

Placement Experience:

In our college students need to have 6CGPA to still in campus placements and our college have a Club that overseas all the placement oppertunityies and the placement starts from 7th semester onwards when students starts there seventy semester the company's starts visiting campus for placement and internship opportunity as well

Saga of my life

Likes

Most of the things like stuC(students centre)
One the things I like the most is boys hostel no 8/7
One thing I like the most is the building and structure of gandhi bhavan

The thing I dislike the most is the boys hostel no 6/1
Food of students.centre was also one thing that I dislike tha most
Building of my college that was block 3 that was hated by most students

Yes,very good college placements are available in our college.Students of 8 semester that is 4th year students are eligible for campus placement Companies such as TCS,wipro,amex,gemini solutions and etc many more companies are there for placement 60-80% students got placed in the companies with an average package of 8 lakhs and with a highest package of 35 lakhs Iam oriented towards govt jobs and in future if I will be interested in coding sector I will do preparation for off campus and specifically for Rubrik

Likes

Good facilities, really teaches student and give individual attention in class too
Good infrastructure , as it was just built in 2021, the infrastructure is top notch and no complaints about it.
Papers are being checked anonymously, one’s paper can be checked by any teacher in any campus, so no chance of partiality

Dislikes

80% strict attendance criteria other they would not allow to sit in exam
Passing criteria is 40% and grading system is also bery difficult, two D grade is 1 F and more than 2F could lead to year repeat year, not even semster
Alot of assigments, really hectic at times

Placement Experience:

We have avergae package of 12 lpa and 57lpa highest, i am not aware of how mqny placed. As such i have plan to get placed but if things didnt go out as planed then mba or mtech maybe. Our campus just opened recently so there is no much information but our placements are central that means, companies visting mumbai have to visit us too, and u can refer mumbai campus placement for our campus because its counted on central level and not varries campus to campus

I chose this college over other colleges because of the placements. No matter how outdated their curriculum is but this college gives good placements. At my rank this was the best college which was giving an average of package of 12LPA from Production and Industrial Engg. I also wanted to live in a good city so I chose this college. If we talk about the admission process of this college, you have to first appear in JEE Mains. Then you have to apply in JOSAA Counselling. There are 6 rounds in JOSAA in which seat is alloted to the students who have got better ranks. Imo if you are a general category student then you have to score above 96 percentile to get in Production of PEC. If you dont get any seat in JOSAA then there is CSAB also. I was getting electrical engineering at NIT surat and CSE cyber security at NIT patna I choose PEC VLSI as I was interested in Electronics and PEC was a better college than the other two options.I got rejected from DTU EE as I didnt have the required rank to get there as a general male other state applicant.
