What Students Say
Likes
- Support of the faculty to pursue things out of academics
- There are variety of societies to be a part of and gain exposure
Dislikes
- Lack of proper Infrastructure Like other DU Colleges
Course Curriculum Overview
The course gives me the best of both Worlds I get the knowledge of both business and economics combined. The course covers a wide range of topics from accounting, Research, marketing, and statistics to obvious economics. The faculty is very average considering it is a DU college. You will hardly get 1-2 professors who are actually going to be teaching you, the rest will just give you an overview of the syllabus.
Internships Opportunities
Around 60 companies offer internships during the entire session like Deloitte, Pregrad, Outlook group, CollegeDunia, and careers 360. The stipend ranges from 3000-15000. The process involves resume screening, GD, personal interview etc.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible to sit for campus placements from their fifth semester. On average about 30 companies come for placements in a year and the average package ranges between 5 - 6 lakh. Profiles range from Business Development, finance associates, marketing and sales to Operations. Companies like D.E. Shaw, Education, BYJUs, Lenskart, ditto, and NCS were seen during 2022-23. Many students plan on pursuing an MBA after their grad.
Fees and Financial Aid
This is a relatively expensive course that Delhi University offers. The fee structure for this course is 40,000 a year. Students in need of financial aid can apply for a scholarship (need basis only).
Campus Life
The Annual fest is SURLOK and is held in February every year. Course and reference books are available in the library. The classrooms are quite archaic and the campus does not have adequate infrastructure facilities. When I say adequate, I mean the facilities are there but very minimal. We do not have a ground in our campus which is the biggest disadvantage. There are a lot of Departmental cultural societies as well as a Placement cell. All the societies are student-run.
Admission
I took the entrance exam DUJAT. There were reservation benefits for SIKH students as well as minority candidates. I belong to the general category and the fee for the exam was 1,000. Now the entrance exam has been changed for the upcoming batches i.e.CUET.
