SCE was preferred over the other colleges mainly for the reasons of practical teaching and linking with an industry. I used to fill my applications to various colleges such as [insert names of colleges] but SCE offered registration to its modern structures and faculty dedicated to its students. I found it critical for my engineering education, other institutions did not offer the same amount of experience in hands on practice and industry oriented curriculum. I got calls from [insert names of confirmed colleges] for admission but because of the concentration given to emerging technologies and the elective system I preferred SCE. However, being that I could not make it to some of the colleges, I was rejected by [insert names of rejected colleges]. In those cases I assume my applications were not as good as they might have been more academically or at least extracurically. The admission process of SCE is quite simple. Applicants who wish to apply should have completed their 10+2 standard education with major subjects being science. The college mostly prefers the scores of the Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) and ComedK, but KCET is the most popular among students. The passing point in these exams differs from one year to another but in most cases, one has to achieve relatively high marks, due perhaps to the reputation of the college. I also took my chance with a few other universities such as RV College of Engineering and BMS College of Engineering and both universities have decent reputation in offering their B.Tech programs. From a few of these, I got confirmed admission but I joined my current college because of the following reasons: emergence technology, good infrastructure and easily accessible faculty. Furthermore, classes contained fewer students than courses at my previous school; to me, it was the main advantage since it means more contacts with teachers. I was rejected by RV College coz of a slightly low rank in the entrance exams not meeting cutoff requirements for RV College. I think competition and higher cutoff marks were somehow a problem to me, but I did get the right college of my desired career path. I remember that my admission process in my college was so easy and smooth. For the eligibility criteria, the candidate has passed class 12 ^{th} with minimum 45% aggregate percentage in PCM i.e., Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The recognised exams are KCET, COMEDK and JEE Main among which KCET is the most preferred by the students. Dur­ing KCET the cut to­off ranges be­tween 15,000 to 30,000 ac­cord­ing to the branch.
