Remarks

I spent my best years in that college. I have very fond memories of that place. I do not have anything wrong to say about that.

Entrance Preview

I took AIEEE exam in 2010 and scored 102 marks. I chose this college as it is one of the best colleges in the country and is close to my home.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

The course structure is good. In first year, we are taught about different subjects relating to all fields of engineering. The core subjects start from the second year. We have labs, tutorials, practicals along with 2 sessionals and 1 end term exam. We have 1 semester for industrial training. At the end of our degree, we are supposed to present a project.

Internships Opportunities

Yes, our college provides internship. The process starts in 5th semester and continues till its end. The internships range from 16-24 weeks. Many companies ranging from core technical to IT based to sales based come to the campus for internships. The stipend varies from company to company but generally it is between Rs.5000-7000 per month.

Placement Experience

5

Placements are one proud areas of PEC. Almost all the students get placed by the end of 7th semester. Companies like PowerGrid Corp of India, Schneider Electric, Amazon, KPMG, etc came to the college for placements and offered packages as high as 14 lpa.

College Events

5

There are 2 big fests in PEC - VYOM and PECFEST. VYOM is a technical fest and takes place in February - March every year. It is one of north India's biggest tech fests. PECFEST is the annual fest of college celebrated in October - November. Many reputed artists like Master Saleem, Gippy Grewal, Coke Studio at MTV have performed there.

Fee Structure And Facilities

The per semester fees was Rs. 37500. This was exclusive of hostel fees. The hostel fees came around to be Rs. 20000 per semester. Since the college was near my home, I never took the hostel option. So the fees for me was easily manageable. The fees for hostel was also not expensive for almost all the students.

Fees and Financial Aid

There are a few scholarships that I am aware of. There is a scholarship for SC/ST students wherein they have to pay only Rs. 5000 fees for 1 semester per year. They can avail this facility if they clear all the subjects of the previous semester. The toppers of the branch also get a scholarship where they also have to pay only Rs. 5000 fees for 1 semester per year.

Campus Life

4.5

The campus has a quiet vibe. There are no areas where one could not find peace. The gender balance is good. In my class of 70 students, there were almost equal number of boys and girls. College has many sports tournaments throughout the year, apart from the annual sports day. There are many clubs and societies which one can join to explore more.

Hostel Facilities

4.5

I never lived in the hostel, but had many friends who did and I would visit their rooms very often. The rooms were spacious. There were different sorts of rooms. Most of the were single rooms, but there were many which had accommodation for 2. Facilities for drinking water are easily available, Plenty of trees around. There are many grounds in the vicinity for playing games.

Alumni/Alumna

There are a few alumni organisations. PECOSA is one of them. They hold meetings and celebrate anniversaries of batches. During my time, the seniors were very helpful and approachable.

Exam Structure

There are 2 sessionals - meaning mid term exams, per semester. The y take place after 1-1.5 months of study. In between there are practicals and assignments. The end term exam takes place at the end of the semester. The workload was never very high. It was easily manageable.

Admission

After the AIEEE result, I applied online to the college. The duration between the result and starting of admission process was about 1-1.5 months. Then we were called for document verification, branch selection, etc on a particular date. After choosing the stream, I paid the fees and got the admission.

Faculty

4.5

The faculty of the college is highly educated. They teach their subjects with utmost care and attention. There are many teachers who are themselves alumni of the university. They are friendly and are easy to approach regarding any doubts or problems.

There are a lot of options to get admission into the college. I got admission through giving college's entrance test which was pretty challenging. I followed the forums online and revised my syllabus of class 9th to 12th inorder to be able to crack the entrance. Apart from this, I also studied the previous year papers which were pretty good and helped me see the pattern of the examination. Overall, the admission process is easy.

The technical side is ok but the cultural side dominating it to a good extent. Overall I think I have made the right decision for the IDEAL college.
