Remarks

The college life till now has been a journey like a roller coaster. Every moment here is worth to live. From cultural activities to academics there is cut throat competition and college management is also working hard to make it this college as good as possible.

Entrance Preview

I took Jee Mains and scored around 180 and 92% in boards. I opt for this college due its legacy and excellent placement record.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course curriculum is same as that of IIT kanpur with minor changes. There is a proper amalgamation of theory and practical classes. Our college has most of the Machines, they are a little outdated but upto the mark. The theory syllabus coincides with that of the gate syllabus.

Internships Opportunities

Yes our college has a system of a semester internship and the work done during the semester is evaluated also. There are companies that come to the campus to recruit interns like JP Morgan, amazon,Goldman Sachs are some of the companies that give hefty stipend to the interns. There is no official data of average stipend.

Placement Experience

4.5

when it comes to placement our college has a good record of about 90% placement and also the companies coming offer diverse profiles. The average package is about 7lpa and the highest package is about 27lpa offered by amazon. There are companies offering roles of consultancy, marketing, R&D, etc. There are more than 80 companies visiting the campus every year for recruitments.

College Events

5

The major event in our college is pecfest that consists of three nights out of which one is star night and one is groovz and glitterati i.e. a fashion show. Apart from that there is Silence Denied which is also one of the major event of the college in which there is a star band .

Fee Structure And Facilities

Fee structure is around 55250 for one semester and around 10000 caution money. It is quite feasible as compared to other engineering colleges. Being in Chandigarh the other little expenses could be a little more than normal, but on an average it is quite affordable.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is provision to for EWS i.e. economically weaker sections to avail 100% scholarships. However for rank opener also there is exempt for college fees and the same goes for the topper student of the year.

Campus Life

4

The campus life in short can be termed as simply awesome. The gender ratio depends very much on the branches. There are students available from almost all the states of north India so there is a good diversity. The Pec excels in extracurriculars and has won several competitions till now in other colleges and fests.

Hostel Facilities

4

In 1st year we are provided with double sharing rooms but in 2nd year we are provided single rooms however we have the privilege of taking double sharing room also. There is no system for PGs.However the security standards of hostels are quite low and need to be improved.

Alumni/Alumna

The alumni base of this college is exceptional. This college has produced students in both cultural and corporate fields like Baadshah and Jaspal Bhatti. When it comes to help the alumni network has always supported in the best way possible.

Exam Structure

The grades are based on the overall performance of the whole semester and are evaluated by giving due weightage to mid sems, quizzes , assignments, end sems and practival viva and evaluation. The grading system is relative. The exam structure is mostly theoretical however some of the quizzes are objective also.

Admission

i filled a online form of Jac Chandigarh of around 1800rs. It's application came out after week Jee Mains ranks were out. The deadline was only of a week. There were 3 rounds arranged and one spot round that was to be held after the orientation program so that the student could get settled by the time being.

Faculty

3.5

The faculty is well experienced and qualified. Most of the faculties have their doctoral degrees from IIT and other prestigious institutes. But some faculties lack interest of teaching otherwise they have good knowledge in their respective fields and have no. of research papers published in numerous conferences

Course Curriculum Overview:

For improvement in teaching methods, they can go digital, like using smartboards, or use more practical teaching methods, or maybe just improve the way of teaching simply. Teaching methods here really need upgrades, mostly students here have to rely on youtube when exams come near.

Placement Experience:

The placements have been lowered by 10-20% recently, but they are getting better. You will get a job if you manage cgpa above 7 and are decent with your skills, but then don't dream for 20lpa + jobs, you need to work upon yourself in silence to get 25-50 lpa packages and they do happen in our colleges, highest package in electrical 2024-25 was 52 lpa and in ece cse they had 61 lpa. Companies start coming in 3rd year for internships, only 10% manage to get intern in 3rd year, companies like microsoft, atlassian, flipkart, mercedes, jp morgan etc. they do come. Placement perecentage is like 75-80% in electrical and it is very low in civil (around 40-50%), in cse it is like 90% or even higher. My plan is to get an intern asap. (Maybe in 2nd year theough offcampus)
