Course Curriculum Overview

I choose this course because I wanted to become an engineer for a long time. The faculty here are well qualified and experienced and help us throughout the academic semester. Almost 1:26 is the faculty-student ratio. Almost every month exam was taken, But the main exam occurs in a semester (6 months gap) and You can pass easily if u study well through the semester.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 12000 per year

Internships Opportunities

I am now in the 2nd semester, and just joined the college only 5 months so it's almost impossible to get an internship in just this amount of time, plus I don't have a laptop for these things to be done properly.

Placement Experience

After 4th-semester students become eligible for campus placement, Infosys, TCS, Cognizant, Wipro, L&T, Adani, etc. Many offers are made per year. More than 80 percent of students got placed. I am looking for a job after the course ends.

Fees and Financial Aid

It's very cheap actually, though it is a government college for admission you have to pay an extra 7000 and each semester you have to give 6000 for Computer science and engineering and the ECE department and others have to pay 3000 per semester. For each semester you have to pay 1200 as an exam fee directly to the university portal of MAKAUT. You can get every government scholarship like SVMCM and you can get a job while studying

Campus Life

For this year Freshers happen in February named CROASO 4.0. The name of the annual fest is ESPERANZA 4.0 which will be conducted grandly for 4 days with half tech fest and cultural fest in the month of April. You can get so many books to read in the library for academic purposes. Classroom and very good and has more than enough for students to read. There are so many sports in the college. Annual sports, cricket tournament, volleyball tournament. So many clubs are here Tech-o-nics. Google developers students club. Dance club, Melodies of CGEC for singing, Probltibimbo for drama, Creative pens for writing, CGEC sports club for sports, Pep talks, Art club, etc.

Admission

You have to appear for the WBJEE exam and have to get a good rank to get admitted here. You will get all information about WBJEE on the official website wbjeeb.nic.in. There are special benefits for st and sc candidates. OBC candidates also get some benefits.

The campus placement from recently past years is slightly good . Placement Experience:

7th semester is when the students get to sit for placements. I am not sure about the total no of companies visited but I am aware of the name of few companies like IBM Infosys Wipro Capsitech Tech Mahindra cognizant etc . Mostly the girls are 100 percent placed cause there is diversity hiring. Mass recruiters is what visit our campus mostly.. I personally would look for a job after graduation highest package offered displayed by college is 75 lpa but I don't think so it is real. Maybe someone had worked hard and got placed off campus. On campus highest isbi guess 12-14 lpa

- I choose Data Science as it is new to my college when comparing with the other branches. The curriculum is just okay it is not per industry standards but if students deep drives in each aspects then they are likely to crack GATE exams. - The whole curriculum needs and improvement from the very 1st Year and removal of irrelevant subjects like Discrete Mathematics, Electonics, Biology for IT branches are required. - Semester exams are conducted every 6 months and CTs are conducted every 2 months

NIT Durgapur:-A wholesome Insight in the college life and it's different aspects

Placement Experience:

For campus placements student become eligible from the 7th semester onwards and for internships student get eligible from 5th semester onwards. Wide no of companies visited our campus around 180+ and made around 580+ offers to the students. The highest salary was 58LPA which was offered by DE Shaw and the highest accepted salary was 51LPA in Microsoft.The average package rolls roughly around 10-12 LPA.The profile offered include SDE roles, management roles,finance in some cases.The overall placement percentage was around 80% with Branches like electrical and metallurgy moving above 90% followed by CSE and ECE in the mid 80s while for biotech and civil the placement percentage are generally below 70.My plans after getting the degree is to land a job offer from on campus placements.Therefafter maybe look out for and MBA from top B schools of india.
