Remarks

Till now everything is good here you will get everything from sports to academic from research to placement and internship from fun to pressure of teachers and exams so it's up to what you wants do here good luck.

Entrance Preview

I have given JEE Main exam and I have got 164 marks since I am from Kolkata with the rank of 18k I can get IIIT Kalyani, NIT Durgapur, and IIEST Shibpur. IIEST Shibpur is the nearest college among mentioned to my house plus it was rank 19 last year and 17 this year by MHRD, placements are quite good here and my teachers also referred so I opted for this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

in 1st semester syllabus of every branch is same and from 2 and year we will have syllabus according to our branch so I don't know much about it but in terms of research, this college will not disappoint you.we have a period of PT, Ecology, and environment for health and exposure.

Internships Opportunities

I don't know if the college does or not but many 3rd and 4th year students even the 2nd year students get internship .i guess students do their on like one student cracked google summer of code and got intern at Google.

Placement Experience

4.5

placement scenario of IIEST Shibpur is getting better and better every year after converting to INI. even Amazon and Microsoft recruit from here last year 1 guy made it to google. placement percentage is quite good also if you want to get a job you will get for sure as not everyone wants to get the job some wants to go for higher education and research.

College Events

4

there are really a lot of events keeps happening like in October we will be having our technical fest named INSTRUCTOR and it will last for 3 days and in this fest, there are total 35 events from games to quiz and coding. In games, there are like FIFA 17, NFS MW,mini-militia, CS . Robodarshan is a club of robotics here they are organizing automaton which is bot making event and like that there are many clubs and they all do a lot of events with prizes.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Particulars Amount Caution Money (One Time, Refundable) ₹3,000 Tuition Fee (per Semester) ₹62,500 Other Fees (per Semester) ₹4,500 Total ₹70,000 100% Tuition Fee waiver for SC/ST/PH students. Full remission of the Tuition Fee for General & OBC students whose family income is less than Rs.1 lakh per annum. Remission of 2/3rd of the Tuition Fee for General & OBC students whose family income is between Rs.1 lakh to Rs.5 lakh per annum. so the term expensive varies with each student and their family background.

Fees and Financial Aid

there are many scholarships for both minority students and meritorious students. If you have a problem with fees even there is a website of alumni here and they help them. except that college provides full tuition fee remission to sc/st and whose family income is less than 1 lakh.

Campus Life

3.5

just after almost 1 month of joining we had an inter-branch tournament of football of 1st-year students and in the winter time that is 2nd semester senior told us we Will have cricket tournament. There is basketball ground, swimming pool and gym also. In my branch there is only 7 girl in 64 students and roughly 1:7 will girl: boy ratio in campus there is only 1 problem other states guy will face and that is called Bengali: V There are many clubs like for dance there is reflexo beta for music and instrument there is euphony for programming there is CODE IIEST and for robotics there is Robodarshan and much more so overall you will get everything of your interest and believe me your campus life here will be awesome.

Hostel Facilities

3

there is 3 hostel here for 1st-year students and I was allotted hostel 8 named D.Banerjee hall. It has 1 table tennis room 1 carom room and there is a room with a TV. Each room is shared by 4 people and in case of room with the balcony its slightly bigger so its shared by 5 people .its sound congested but its no big deal I am also in this balcony room it's much better and airy. Every staff, cook, and caretaker are, humble. now about food, many say they like the food many dislikes Bengali guy will and a non-veg guy will find it okay as fish are chicken you will get a lot. I personally feel that food is okay except bread that is roti. in all 3 hostels, we have the highest freedom like we can play tennis table at 3 am but not in another hostel. hostel 10 is lucky in terms of food.

Alumni/Alumna

I don't know much about alumni network but you won't get better senior-junior relationship than what we have here.I remember after 1 week of admission i heard seniors are coming and I was like wtf now and when they came everyone was like they saw a ghost and seniors were actually acting like bad guys and they asked everyone to give intro after that they all suddenly laughed and said " Itna q darre hue ho yr hmlog darawane dikhte h kya darne ki zarort nahi h kuch v ho hmlogo ko bolo we will help you " and that incident changed my perception of seniors.

Exam Structure

in the beginning of session teachers take their class test after a month their is exam called mid-term and finally semester .i have 3 practical in a week so its quite easy to manage and classes will get over at 4:30 after that you will have plenty of time to chill around or to play sports or to study .

Admission

1st you have to participate in online counseling named JOSAA in which you have to fill your choices like whats your desired branch in which college so I have also filled up the choices and I was allocated information technology branch in IIEST Shibpur in 2nd round .there is total 7 round in JOSSA. after that, we need to verify the documents so I went to the college there were 3 officers who were verifying the documents. They were working continuously so my verification was completed within 2-3 hr unlike some college where it takes 5-6 hr. After that when all the rounds were over you need to visit again for admission with verification letter and all the documents mentioned on the official website so, I did and completed my admission.

I’d rate HIT’s placement opportunities as 7.5/10 overall. It’s very good for CSE, IT, and ECE, decent for Electrical and core branches, and improving every year with more companies visiting and better preparation programs. If you’re skilled and consistent — especially in coding, communication, and aptitude — you’ll almost certainly get placed before graduatin
