Course Curriculum Overview

4

I chose English Honours at Ramjas college because I heard from people that the Ramjas English department is the best among all departments in University, after getting the admission I just can't agree enough with this. This is probably the best place, the department feels like home, and the ratio is about 1:20 All the facilities are highly intellectual and soft-spoken, they teach the subject so well, I enjoy all my lectures. term exam is announced by University so it's pretty structured and it's not very hard to pass it, it just takes a few readings

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is pretty fine, it's worth it. College offers a few scholarships, some are offered by University and some others as well by different institutions like hpcl and IO. I didn't find any campus job as such in college but the University library and VC office surely offer some internship which is paid.

Campus Life

4.5

Our batch of 23 didn't experience such a fest and all because of all the things but surely we're seeing some fest coming our way in the month of April/May. The library is so rich in Ramjas you'll get everything you need here, classrooms are also good in the new building but the desk in the old building is not that comfortable to sit for long hours. Ramjas have a big playground and football group and all kinds of sports and equipment are available including a table tennis arena. Campus surely have many activities on day to day basis, all kind of society and groups are here, you name it, we have it

Admission

I got admission on 96% with SC quota, I filled out the application form on DU's own portal for UG admission application fee was 500 for me and it was about mid-June, the admission process was smooth as it was held by DU's administration, sometimes the portal crashes but was manageable

Other Applied Colleges

Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University - [GGSIPU] | Bachelor of Journalism and Mass Communication [B.J.M.C.]

The fees was too high

Placement Experience:

The placement opportunities are mainly for commerce stream departments but the humanities stream also are offered internship from the government ministries such as ministry of culture and Home ministry. There are many private companies that come to offer placements. The students from 3rd year in particular apply for internships. The highest package iffered is 500000 and the average is 250000. About 45% students get placements. My plan after getting the degree is to go for higher studies.

I wanted to do PhD in Political Science but due to percentage I took up BA program. Teachers used to provide notes but mostly I used to be off. There was nothing wrong with the college. Exam timings were good.

As a future law student philosophy was one of the options which was good to opt. Secondly, comparatively less people opt it and it can be one of the better choices if you are preparing for upsc and taking it as an optional. Teaching can be made more interactive as the topics are really interesting

Remarks:

Positive : the faculties are good and I could say our college is the meeting place of various cultures ranging from Kerala to jammukashmir Negative: the infrastructure is poor. Labs and libraries are not so good. And there are stray dogs who often steps into classes and make us afraid. College is not fully air conditioned but is on processing.
