Course Curriculum Overview

4

The course is one of the newest branches in PEC. Introduced for the first time in PEC in 2022, this branch basically aims to the CSE data sciences subjects and that is why I chose this course. The students to teacher ratio are 60:1. The faculties are quite new in the subjects being taught but are quite experienced in teaching CSE students. They are also quite helpful in understanding the problems faced by students. The teachers generally use a PPT based teaching system. One semester generally runs for 5 months with mid sems at end of 2.5 and endterm at end of 5 months respectively. Although the papers are quite difficult and tricky, almost 99% of students pass easily.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

The internship cycle goes on during the 5th semester with the 6th sem being given to us to do internships in those companies. Various companies like JP Morgan and Chase, Uber, Ola, CVent, Samsung, Maruti, Mahindra, Atlassian, etc visit PEC. The max stipend is 160k but the avg stipend goes to 44k. This year, a 45% the increase in the number of internships offered was seen. Various roles like software (35%) data analysis(25%) and core (5%) are seen in PEC.

Placement Experience

4.5

Students get pre-placement training in the 4th sem, and the 5th sem is all about finding an intern. 6th sem is dedicated to doing the internship and 7-8th interns are dedicated to finding campus placements. The companies like JP Morgan and Co, mechanzie, Atlaccian, Microsoft, Maruti, and Uber visit PEC to pick PEC's brightest men and women of tomorrow. Various profiles like Software, Consultancy, data analysis, and core are open to students of various branches Almost all the students from circuital and 80% of Non-circuital get placed. Dara science is the relatively newer branch and the exact package/stipend discussion is still underway and will only be found out after 2025. My plan is to go on study for MTech after my degree is complete

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee Structures can be divided into 3 main regions: mess, tuition and hostel (if taken). Tuition fees is around 85000 per sem and mess fees ranges from 2.5K-3.5K every month. The hostel fees is 70000 for one year (2 semesters) the tuition fees are hiked at 5-10% every year depending on the college's committees. There are various scholarships that are available from college to promote students that are from branch topper/ lower castes/lower economic classes/orphans etc to get a chance to get financial assistance to allow students to study with ease. The campus jobs are amazing and the package is great as well.

Campus Life

3

The annual cultural fest is called PECFEST held in November and the now-discontinued annual technical fest was called Vyom. The PEC library is a 3 floor giant source of wisdom where various books on the most trivial of subjects or topics can be found easily. The digitisation of the data of books makes it way easier to find books. The classrooms are all well lit, Air conditioned to allow students to have an easy time while studying. The college campus has some or the other sports/extra curriculular activity going on all the time. Sports events like Atheletic meet, HPL(hostel premiere league) /FPL(football primere league) etc are held where more than 42 teams participate. Extra curriculular includes clubs like Dramatics, music, Saasc, PEB which work round the year to perform in various fests and In house events. Various meme pages, clubs, websites are run by students these days.

Hostel Facilities

3.5

The hostel facility is quite good. Although it's a little expensive, but works way better than hostels from even IITs. The rooms are big and spacious, And even have 1-2 windows for ventilation. There are even balconies for every 6 rooms where u can hang ur clothes etc. The food is okayish and menu is quite repetitive at times. However, chicken being cooked twice a week is a delicacy u might not want to miss out on

Admission

The admission process is based entirely on JEE mains. The application form and cut-off can be found on JEE Or NTA website. There is no interview or GD to take admission. Only the JEE rank matters. The seat matrix consists of reserved seats for the Chd quota, Kashmiri pandit quota, sports and defence quota FF quota. Surprisingly no female quota is present in PEC. The admission process is smooth and transparent.
