Study At Thapar

I chose the CSE branch because the total number of subjects per semester is lesser than in the other branches you will find 6 subjects per semester whereas, in some other branches, there are 7-8 subjects per semester which makes it comparatively easy. The average package of cse branch is also more than other branches. The class size is a bit more. In one class there are around 100-150 students present which make faculty to students ratio 1:150 or 1:100 The faculty here is highly qualified. The teachers who teach us have completed their doctorate as well as post-doctorate with a good amount of experience. Mid terms start within 2 or 2.5 months after the beginning of the semester and End sems begin after 2-2.5 months after the mid sems.

Students from 3rd year become eligible for campus placements. Around 300-400 companies visit Thapar every year giving 1500-2000 offers every year. The highest package offered is 44LPA and the average package is 11LPA. Almost 100 students get placed in Thapar.

The fees for Thapar are very high. For CSE, COE and COBS it is more, than the other branches. In 2022 for 1st year the fees for CSE, COE and COBS fees were 2,18,000 for 1 semester with a hike of 8-10 per cent per year whereas the fees for other branches were 1,95,000. But with this Thapar offers many scholarships to the deserving. For the first years, it is on the basis of jee mains and for the 2nd,3rd and 4th years it is on the basis of the cgpa of the last year. There is a scholarship for those students also whose family income is less than 10LPA. Internship programmes are also very good here but come with a lot of competition. You must have a cgpa>9-9.5 to avail of the internship with a good stipend amount.

The annual fest of Thapar is SATURNALIA which is conducted in the month of November. But different fests are organized for the students by the respective societies monthly which include hackathons, food fests and cultural fests. Nava Nalanda Central Library in Thapar is considered one of the biggest libraries in Asia having more than 1 lakh books. Sports facilities in thapar are also very good as there is a team of thapar for each and every sport. If you want to be eligible for the admission process then you must be having your board's percentage>70 per cent and jee mains percentile should be greater than 60 percentile. The Application form is presented on the official site of Thapar at the time they start their admission process and the fee for the application form is 1500/- There is a reservation for students who belong to SC, ST and OBC castes and for the students who come under pwd quota.
