Likes

Faculty members are quite helpful and experienced.
Classrooms and labs are well equiped with the amenities.
Gymnasium, swing and library are my favourite places.

Dislikes

Working with Lab equipments needs a lot of patience.
Library has only course related books. Fictional or historical books can't be found.
Teachers are bit serious, so it is more like a school.

Course Curriculum Overview

I chose this course because I wanted to learn something wholesome. You get quite a good variety of topics and papers in this course. The faculty of this course is helpful and experienced. Their teaching methods are quite worth appreciation. In the 2022-2023 session semester 1 was so short that it was difficult to cover the whole syllabus in detail. It's not that easy but an interesting course.

Placement Experience

You can apply for placements in the 3rd year. Wipro and Sun Pharma are some of the companies that visit the college. Many students apply for Higher education. Many of the students sit for Competitive exams like SSB, UPSC, Banking exams and others.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee was affordable in comparison to the other bachelor of science sources. The hostel fee is 1 lakh/year which has to be paid together. There are many scholarship programmes for science students in the government. Fee concession is also given to the scholars. College also has its Placement cell.

Campus Life

The annual fest of clubs and societies is organised in the month of February-March. Tech fests (TECHNEXUS, TECH MELANGE, etc) and departmental fests are organised in the month of January. Open Gym and Gymnasium are the cherries on the cake for sports persons. SRCASW student council named Instagram page is run by students for upcoming information. The library consists of 3 floors according to the departmental books. E-library is also present. Classrooms (Lecture Theatres, Seminar Halls) are equipped with projectors and screens and nice amenities.

Admission

For Bsc(H) Instrumentation Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in 12 standard is the eligibility criteria. Common University Entrance Test (CUET) is mandatory for admission in any University. The application form can be found on the NTA official website. Important guidelines and dates regarding CUET are available on the official website. There are reservation benefits too. In 2022, the admission process was quite late and unorganised. I hope it improves.

A great learing experience- my college review

Course Curriculum Overview:

I didn’t get into medical college. The curriculum is not that good in my course. Practical should be more focused and research papers. Timing is just 2 hrs for core paper many students exam are left for writing in short duration

Ignou: Flexibility And Disappointment

Placement Experience:

Placements in IGNOU are quite limited compared to regular universities. Since IGNOU is an open and distance learning university, it does not have a strong campus placement system like DU or private colleges. There is a Campus Placement Cell (CPC) that conducts job fairs and recruitment drives at some regional centers, but these are not very frequent and mostly depend on the location. Usually, students who are in their final year or have completed the course can apply, but there is no fixed semester rule since the system is flexible. The companies that visit are not very large in number and vary every year. Some private firms, NGOs, BPOs, insurance companies, and small IT firms have participated in the past. The roles are generally entry-level such as sales, customer support, data entry, insurance advisor, or junior IT support. There are very limited opportunities for core mathematics or research roles through placements. As far as packages are concerned, the average package is usually around ?2.5 LPA to ?4 LPA, but since IGNOU is an open university, it cannot be expected to have the same placement levels as regular colleges with full-time classes. Also, the percentage of students placed is very small because most IGNOU students are either working professionals, homemakers, or people preparing for competitive exams, so placements are not the main focus. Many students use the degree as a qualification while pursuing their own career path outside. I am currently in my 2nd year, so I do not have personal placement experience yet. The data I have mentioned here is based on internet sources and feedback from other IGNOU students. From what I have learned, placements exist but are very limited, and one should not rely only on them for career building.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The reason for the choice of course is ofcourse personal interest also, research work in chemistry is highly interesting and also has scope in fields like chemical engineering,forensic sciences etc. The teaching methods are really good and the books prescribed are available in the libraries. The timing of exams are according to the university and is into two halves.

I applied to GGSIP University and filled the entrance exam CUET. One can get admission in Delhi University by giving the CUET exam. After giving cuet, we have to apply on the CSAS portal that is of Delhi University. It then conducts various rounds of admission process and students are allotted colleges according to their preference sheets and marks scored in CUET exam. In IP University I got rank 382(out of 15000) for BBA where I was given admission according to my preference, in VIPS college. Though I kept Delhi University as my first choice. And since BMS is a professional course I decided to take up this college, SRCASW( NIRF ranking 32) Also I wanted to stay in Delhi so didn't sign up for colleges in other states. The best college for BMS is considered to be Shaheed Sukhdev college of business students. It has a very high cut off and thus remains a Dream for many students. It also offers a course BBA(FIA) that is also provided by SRCASW. But since it's a women's college, it's not available to everyone....Read More
